Great timing! I've been wanting a second SB and have more colour modules than places to put them.

Psyched for this. Probably can't wrangle the scratch for one during this first preorder, but I'm definitely gonna need me one. My mk1 is a staple of my rig and has been on every mix I've done practically since Brad sent me a prototype to check out back in the stone age. Few pieces of gear are "make you instantly better at mixing" the way the SB is.

This is truly an (re)evolution of mk1, and IMO, makes mixing even easier - if that is even possible. The bottom end is huge, but still tighter than a gnat's a**. LOL. The extra mojo block makes a huge difference, and the EQ is so much more versatile. Plus the aspect ratio is off the chain.

I'm all for image controls but this is just a button which makes me think it's not as useable in all cases. What's it doing exactly? I'm close to caving and getting one..even though I should wait..

I'm close to caving and getting one..even though I should wait.. I'm sure you've already read this from the announcement,,,,,but just in case you haven't : STEREO IMAGE ENHANCEMENT ASPECT RATIO is a new analog processor that musically enhances the stereo width, height, and clarity of your mix. This isn't one of those cheap sounding, phasey widening effects that leaves you wondering if you are messing up your soundstage or balance. ASPECT RATIO delivers masterful results at the touch of a single button. No fussy tweaking or second guessing required. We spent the last year perfecting this circuit so you can get on with perfecting your mix.Aspect Ratio is Brad's proprietary secret sauce circuitry. I absolutely didn't want gimiky wideners or phasey stuff that so many plugins do. If you want that, IMO, a plugin is probably your best bet. Put it on the insert, or after the SBmk2. In addition, we both wanted it simple, to the point, and "right" without the ability to seriously jack up your mixes. We spent a lot of time getting it to where we both think it's not too much, not too little. It's definitely a "taste" thing, and my initial thoughts were - no, I don't think so. But now they are a resounding YES! Love it. I've mixed over 100 songs with mk2 now, and AR has been on probably 95% of them. Hope that helps. If you do cave, you should know the initial units are sold out, but brad may open up more pre-sales this weekend.

Is there any difference sound wise to the mk1, if one is using just the 2 Mojos and the same EQ points of the old one? If you have golden ears and a kickazz monitoring situation, you may hear some minute differences as there is a new power supply, and the EQ is configured slightly differently - but 99% of us will hear no difference. For all intents and purposes, yes - they sound identical with identical settings. The A/N mojo blocks are quite literally identical, with identical parts, transformers, opamps, etc.. Although they are now "modular" for plug in versatality and swappability. Like a doctor, our motto was "do no harm" and we didn't want to mess around with what has become a somewhat iconic sound. . However, mk2 goes a long ways beyond mk1 and if you choose to, you can get some seriously different sounding options with cascading and blending in Mojo C, the optional EQ and Filter points and Aspect Ratio. In addition to just A and N, you've now got the essence of an Vintage British VCA based console as well. Hope that answers your question.

That's cool and all. Im sure it's nice I just wanted to know what it actually is doing to the signal. Because of what you're referring to with gimiky widener and phasey stuff. I'd never expect that from Brad but I'm still curious what it actually is doing to the signal. But if it's a secret then so be it. It won't stop me from getting one.

Well I tried to order one. Maybe I can get on a wait wait list.
I do wish there was more detail on the Mojo C options other than the SSL. Are these colour modules already available?
If you don't choose the SSL, are the other two options also stereo, or can you select two different modules?
I was wondering about something like that FET compressor, or the Pentode tube. Which module was the one touting 2nd stage console processing?
I do think it looks like an improved product. If this price is actually the regular price I guess waiting isn't as big of a deal. But if it does go up, I'm wondering why not just take more orders while the iron is hot?

If you go on the LTL website, there is lots of info on your various colour module options and they are available as long as they are not out of stock. They have been available for quite awhile : store.louderthanliftoff.com/collections/rgbAlso, all the colour modules on DIYRE are compatible too. LOTS of choices!!! www.diyrecordingequipment.com/pages/the-colour-formatULTIMATELY, the C Mojo block will also be able to accept LTL Mojo Blocks - which are modular mojo blocks ala our A and N mojo blocks. We kicking the tires on a few options here.....but the Colour options are ready to rock today. At this point, I have not heard of any plans to raise the price, but with Covid production constraints, anything is possible. Crazy times we live in to be trying to build great gear......

Thanks for the response. Okay I'm familiar with those two pages describing colour modules.
My question is about the MKII page, under Features, it describes Mojo C with three bullet options as being Hitmaker 4000, C-Drive, and C-Mix. I assume all of these are separate modules? Which modules are C-Drive and C-Mix? Those aren't listed on the Colour pages.
If those two things are part of the Hitmaker, then it's not organized clearly.
