Honestly, I don't think you would see any performance increase...I just bought one of the 6B's after having an older Brent Averill 6 space. I had problems with the BA - slots wouldn't work sometimes, headroom issues, etc. The only difference in that rack and this one is that it works all the time. you have a 6b, wiz has a 6b, he's suggesting an external PSU on something other than a 6b i believe. you said you had headroom issues with the old BA, and the only diff is that it works now. Do you have the same headroom issues now with the 6b(like your post suggests?), confused? my experience is PSU's almost alway make at least a small diff, sometimes a very large diff. Remote PSU's introduce less noise into your audio paths generally, introduce less heat in you 500 modules, and a robustly built PSU that doesn't need to work hard will surely last longer, all of this=better performance. Yeah, the API 6Bs I've owned performed solidly too. Also, I currently have the 8B and as far as I can tell, I hear no audible noise between the two. PSU internal or external. Also neither gets hotter than the other. No experience with other racks, just the API's so not sure how it compare to those. But yeah, no complaints about the performance of the APIs, just the current price bump haha

I have a pair of the AEA RPQ preamps. They are very useful! I use the line function quite a bit so I can use the hp filter and open the top up when I need to with the shelf.
