Who is around? Let's meet up? Food. Drinks. Music. Where should I go? What to do? Anyone got sessions going at a cool spot and don't mind a couple flys on the wall? Studio open houses anywhere? Give me the deets.

There are usually some studio open houses or product demos at them…Addiction usually has one.
Carter, Gruhn, and Rumbleseat are the vintage guitar shops to check out, Nelson’s Drum Shop for vintage drums, Forks for new (and occasional used) drums, Nashville Used Music will sometimes have a good, unexpected find. Eastside Music Supply is guitar pedal central.
If you like acoustic/bluegrass music The Station Inn is worth a visit. Vickie Vaughn on the 16th is a good one. On the 20th Anthony Da Costa & Maya De Vitry are at Dee’s and that’s the best music for $5 you might ever hear.
Food recommendations would depend on where you are staying and how you feel about waiting in line. Try to go to Arnold’s if you can. Even if there’s a line it moves pretty quick. I think living here for so long my recommendations are based off not having to wait and good service. Margot is my favorite breakfast and honestly place in Nashville. Just a great spot to have a meal. If Big Al’s is open, his breakfast and lunch are amazing but it’s a big meal and you’ll be moving slow the rest of the day. Monells in Germantown is also a fun experience especially if you are coming with friends/family. A quick cheap eat is Cheap Charlie’s Taco Truck in East Nashville. His family also owns Taqueria Andrea which is amazing. My two favorite breweries to sit outside and have a beer are Smith & Lentz and East Nashville Beer Works. Usually not too crowded great selection and good food.
I’m not your guy for hot chicken recommendations.

Sadly, I have to cancel my travel plans. Life has gotten in the way. So, I have to deal with a whole bunch of adult stuff, which is rarely easy and never fun.
I'll miss all you guys.

Downtown has turned into the Vegas strip. Robert’s Western World is still pretty cool when Don Kelly plays. Moto near the Gulch is one of my favorite restaurants…saw Derek St. Holmes at Old Smoky Distillery and then walked across the street to see Robben Ford at City Winery - that’s fun if someone good is there. 401 Kitchen/Gertie’s in the gulch has great Bourbon selection/drinks.

Is 3rd and Lindsey's still a happening place? I remember going to a few showcases there back in 2001

The new Brooklyn Bowl is surprisingly fun and not a bad sounding music room either. It’s right next to the minor league ball park which, if there’s a game and you like baseball, is a fun way to spend an afternoon as well.

Isn’t there some kind’ve bowling thing behind where 12th and porter used to be too?

"Vintage King Nashville is currently moving to a new location. While we relocate, curbside pickups and demos will be on hold. Please stay tuned for more information on when both will resume and the official open date of our new showroom."
Bastards. What a dumb move to move during NAMM.

Agreed, but I’ll bet you will find out that wasn’t the plan! I know of a bunch of guys who had remodels of new spaces stretch out to the point where a one had to shut down because his old space was rented!

FWIW...3rd And Lindsey doubled their room size...put in a 48khz digital mixer and a big raised stage some years back. I've only been a few times since.
Fond memories of the best place to see a songwriter/small band show in Nashville. Hell...Tift Merritt's Tamborine era band crammed into that corner stage rocked it down...I've seen everyone I love there, really, seems like over those years...
I just got the notice that Isbell's doing his week residency at the Ryman again this year...I should prolly get tickets to that...I've gotten to where Tedeschi Trucks and Jason Isbell is what it takes to get me to go out. Sara Bareilles's show out at the Grand ole Opry was too big...I'm happy for her that she's filling bigger places--but big PA concerts are...just not my jam.

When I first replied to the mention of 3&L, I completely pictured the old bar. And then I remembered The new one. Shit, I’ve actually PLAYED the new one. Funny how things are tattooed on your brain.

sean and Johnkenn, thanks for the tips. I just tossed all these spots into a Google map, so I've got everything saved. We roll in Thursday morning and out Tuesday afternoon. Looking forward to it. Check out the Whitestone Audio folks. Kim is who I use for Mastering and her Husband makes the gear. I think they’ve got a new piece out that’s a little dirtier than their mastering tune loader. I think they spend a fair amount of time down there and would most likely have some connections to any after party happenings going on tonight. Possibly at that 1970’s studio?
