Saw the mailing list email. Anyone thinking of getting one of these? I've wanted a second VComp, but haven't pulled the trigger. Maybe this will put me over the edge!!

Curious what this deluxe edition entails. I’ve got the 6386 edition and it’s damn good.

Only 3 changes:
- More release times, I believe they added 3 more - Additional Drive switch, adds more input gain(not sure how much) - New meter that is back lit
Otherwise it is the same.

Playing devil's advocate, maybe I don't want more options. Simplicity and ease of use being king.
But it's hard to ignore GAS on this one...

And other gear too Do you have the d-comp? I was surprised to find out how beautiful it sounds. Others maybe like it for other reasons. I guess we are all different. I agree about the d3a. I think they have been waiting for a part or two on the d3a but I have a feeling it will be around again soon.

To quote the boss, here are the improvements . . . and yes, these are significant developments!! V-Comp Plus added features: -It has 3 extra recovery mode times -It has an 'Drive/Stock' toggle switch to let more signal in. This mod has quite a pronounced effect, as it lets in more signal and saturation. I have been fiddling with this circuit for a while and found this quite a worthy addition. -It has the cosmetic differences of the 'other' style OG meter and a more original style power lamp.
We will still be offering the original V Comp alongside this one for those who want a great Gates style comp for an excellent price. You really can't go wrong with either! So you can still get the original V-Comp . . . but there are more options, so more to play with, with the new V-Comp+ STOP THE PRESSES!!8PM EDT Saturday. Regular sales occur and there will 15 V-Comp +s for sale!! Regular price is $1699, but these first 15 ONLY will be $100 less. Only these first 15. So, you're getting a pro tip here. $1599 for the first 15. 15 for 15. Then it's $1699. So really. Act now. Supplies are limited. Yes, they will run out. Am I a shameless shill? Sure. But this is 100% accurate. Chris is gonna be later!

I have a successor and will likely get a buzz dbc-m next for a diode comp. Or the new igs diode comp as it has emla switches like the buzz. I like switches for mastering and recall. And I love 3as so..yeah. never have too many. If I ever finish my kits I'd have 6 channels now. Ha

I've also been lusting after a successor, seems like a great box.

The SOC-M is on my list too. But the new IGS ZEN unit looks cool too. 2u though but that's okay. Lots of attack and release options. www.igsaudio.com/zen

It would be cool if one could update their standard VComp to the Deluxe +.

additional opyions are there is you need them. Bass for instance, into a good DI (wonder who makes one of those?) directly into the V-Comp with the drive up is a very interesting possibility.
