been thinking about buying ik sunset sound studio reverb, demoing right now. did some quick recording this morning to test it against my usual reverbs: space designer and valhalla room. nothing fancy, just a quick acoustic one. live playing and singing: vocals > violet design amethyst vintage > aml 1073ez > stam adg acoutic guitar (sigma j45 copy) > la610 overdubbing: backing vocal left side acoustic guitar right side tamburine did nothing in the mix just the sends to: vocal and acoustic guitar > studio rooms: space designer: 1.2 recording room+ SSSR: live room studio 3 valhalla room: preset studio alpha send the vocals also to soundtoys little plate except in the SSSR version i used the ik plate overdubbed backing vocal and acoustic guitar (to mono sends, panned hard L and R): space designer: 0.6s drum booth four SSSR: iso booth studio 2 valhalla room: preset small ambience nothing in the mix, but on the mixbus: spl iron compression tdr kotelnikov compression softube tape tdr limiter the all sound useable (didn't tweak them to sound individually as good as possible), can you guess which one is which ;-? Vers. 1: soundcloud.com/zinzin/1a-1/s-g7RZeJIo3gkVers. 2: soundcloud.com/zinzin/2a-1/s-dGxE0jIfhW6Vers. 3: soundcloud.com/zinzin/3a-1/s-BbNMEqZcBKV

This has nothing to do with the reverbs but you have great taste in “little guitars”. My CEO 9 was love at first strum and I traded a Gibson LOO in the next day.

All I'm seeing is "3" no "1" or "2," would love to participate in the blind guess though!
Using Sunset Sound on every mix I do now, it's that good to me.

Using Sunset Sound on every mix I do now, it's that good to me. re-uploaded the links in post #1. always trouble with these private soundcloud links ... i heard your soundclip on the other SSSR thread and it sounded very good. i just want to make shure not to have "duplicates". like, if the reverbs i already own give me the sound i want, i am not gonna get a new reverb just for the sake of "having more choice" – i hate having to much choices when mixing.

My CEO 9 was love at first strum and I traded a Gibson LOO in the next day. with the right strings (gibson masterbuilt premium phosphor), right plectrum and care in mic positioning i can get relatively close to the gibson j45 sound. it's a nice guitar the sigma one.

Cool thanks for the fix. I'm going to place a wild guess here. 1 is the algorithmic reverb (Valhalla room.) 2 is the Sunset Sound, 3 is Logic Space Designer.
If I got it wrong, then flip 2 and 3. Unless I'm totally off base here.
I think my favorites in order are 2, 3, and then 1. 2 and 3 are close, both are very good. 3 is a little more 'live' sounding, 2 is a little warmer and tighter, but both have that sense of "space" that I crave. I would be happy with either 2 or 3 in a mix. 1 just sounds a tiny bit flatter to me, but it's pretty good, not quite as tight in the bass, and there's some stereo stuff happening here that's not happening on the other two, like a spring or a plate or something panned hard right.

Right away 1 said “60s” to me, and I liked it the best, so hopefully it’s something you already own. Others are fine, I feel like I can get sunset to do 2 or 3 depending on settings.

ok ladies:
version 1: space designer version 2: sssr version 3: valhalla room
all in all i will get sssr when again for sale at 49€, i like how it sounds. although space designer and valhalla room can do similar rooms. but i like how sssr is laid out and i like how i can hear „the ceiling“ in the sssr rooms.
