littlesicily swears by it. And I'm sure it's all over modern country these days because all the ballads are gooey with pads.

Sounds like every TV show and film you've heard in the last decade... There are literally whole ad music tracks that are nothing but an Omnisphere sequence! TV and film are totally dominated by Omnisphere.

Any suggestions on great presets? Its a little daunting... This is the reason why I don't use it anymore!LOL I don't need 100 atmospheric pads! I switched to Zebra which sound just as good to my ears and has 1/10 of the number of sounds. Zebra still has all the same categories of sounds just way less of them which makes decisions way easier.

Def is way too many presets. Can be time consuming to go through all of them. I normally just use the pad/strings.
I just finished a tune where i used the "Basic Dark Pad Velo" preset. Really like that preset. Have used it quite a bit for other songs as well. One of my favourites. Try this one first.
the "Adagio Transparent strings warm" is also nice.
Just started a new song where the "Melodica" preset found its way for a section of the song. But yeah this will only work in certain tunes. Not something that i would normally use.
I also normally bounce the Omni patches through my VP28's.

Also be great if some other users can chime in with presets they use.

henge Zebra vs Omnisphere I have been torn about omnisphere it does sound great but $500 is a lot for the amount I will use it. If Zebra is as good and doesent have a million presets it maybe my new synth. As you have both could you please give use your thoughts on what you loose and gain zebra v omni. Cheers.

henge Zebra vs Omnisphere I have been torn about omnisphere it does sound great but $500 is a lot for the amount I will use it. If Zebra is as good and doesent have a million presets it maybe my new synth. As you have both could you please give use your thoughts on what you loose and gain zebra v omni. Cheers. Omnisphere has waaaay more of everything than Zebra but Omni's content seems to be alot of variations on a sound. Zebra just gives you 3,4,5 options for a saw lead for example. all of them will sound great so I find it easier to choose. There are alot of free user expansions for Zebra which start getting you into the amount of sounds that Omni has, but again I don't want alot of choice so i haven't installed most of the sounds. Sonically I think Zebra's on par with Omni. Seems to be just as fat. The built in FX in Zebra and Omni are nice but I always end up taking them off and use Ubermod or SoundToys instead. Actually Zebra just had it's 10th anniversary and released a new soundbank with the synth. www.u-he.com/cms/143-zebra-turns-10To your op I think you lose all the excellent arpeggiated patches from Omni but Zebra has it's own arp with fewer patches but you can still program the arp. Omni seems a tad richer in the low mids but I was always dialing that out anyway. Zebra seems to fit in mixes easier for me. Those seem to be the main diffrences for me. I haven't used Omni in a year or so. You should demo it and see how it fits your tracks!;
