Just FYI...I need another fake guitar amp like a hole in the head...but there are some good sounds in there.

I really like these. I usually use other amps inside Amplitube, and in real life, but they really did a nice job with the Fenders. Better than many other amp sim brands.
Think I'm going to buy the Sunset Sound Reverb tomorrow on this sale, with the $25 Jam Points they gave away recently.

I just listened. I have all those Fenders in Logic, but they don't sound right to me. I have a Fender Bluesbreaker that has a classic Fender Princeton sound and a sort of Vox sound, depending on which tubes they use. It sounds good on recordings, but micing at home can be a PITA.
I think I'm going to go for this, just in case I need it. UAD's Marshall is excellent, but forking out too many dollars for UAD's Fender sims is seriously unappealing.
Is there a code somewhere for a discount? (not that $25 isn't fair enough), but I do have some IK plus and wondered about it.

When you're logged into your IK account, go to the promotions tab, you may have 25 'jam points' show up as available there that they gave away a couple months back. That would bring it down to $17 since you can use jam points for up to 30% of the purchase price. I grabbed Space Delay for $17 and Sunset Sound Studio Reverb for $35 both using jam points for discounts.

You can apply your points (up to 30%) in checkout. Listened to the Greg Koch video, and he of course sounds amazing, but then again, he would on anything.

Thanks, subspace, I copied your nice idea and made the same cart, Space Delay and Sunset Sound. Very happy with both so far. Space Delay is much better than the Arturia 201. Sunset Sound is something I've been wanting since it came out, and it doesn't disappoint. Not sure if I spoke correctly in my post yesterday about Amplitube Fender collection, I was rushing. What I meant to say is Amplitube 5 Fender are the best ITB Fender amps I've heard. Better than UAD, better than Plugin Alliance, Line 6, or any I've used. I own more real Fender amps than any other brand, if I do the math, so I know the sound, and these tick the box for me. Amplitube 5 is by far my favorite amp sim platform. When I use the Fenders, I gravitate to the larger, more powerful blackface ones, since that's closer to what I play in real life. The spring reverb is really nice on these. Amplitube 5 has upgraded speakers so they will sound even better than they did in Amplitube 4 or any previous version. And the pedals they include are a nice bonus, for even more tones. For $17 (with jam points) IMO it's an easy recommendation. Almost a "crazy deal" if you like that sort of carnival language.

I kind of miss PodFarm for the effects (not so much the amps). Line6 is asking too much for their latest plugin, at least to get my money.
But then the IK store is so alienating to me, I'm kind of checked out on their stuff. (Although I am getting a lot of use out of their analog synth suite thing with the dumb name).
In terms of guitar I am really gravitating toward getting the break up from pedals, then running that into a cheapo GE200 with OwnHammer IRs.
When I capture a DI output in parallel, the amp sim ITB never works that well, but I think it's because the way I play into the break up of the pedal no longer translates, not because there is anything wrong with Amplitube 5.

I bought the Fender collection. Thanks to all the guys here for all your suggestions. It might seem redundant, but I figured if there's only one time I need a quick Fender sound and the IK Fenders work even a little better than the others, it will have been worth it.

I found the IK Ampeg Bass collection to be the best. That was a few years back though, so it may have been surpassed by now.
I actually had one of the amps they simulated, and it sounded exactly like mine without the hum. So much so, I sold the amp.

The IK Ampeg bass amps are really good for me too. Even the really old versions like you said. But for some reason the Plugin Alliance / UAD Ampegs are very special also, hard to choose. The IK is more boom-tizz, big sounding, the Plugin Alliance seems to have sweet mids. Tough call I could go with either. You wouldn't really need any other bass amp plugins after these. Don't really use any of them though because my DI sounds so good.
There's not a lot of bad in Amplitube 5, that's the thing that stands out to me. Most of them are good to great. That is unusual for a brand, I find most other brands to hit some and miss a lot with amp sims. That is probably the main reason I rate it so highly.

Am always leery of amp sims and my name isnโt Timothy, although this is a very good price!

I guess I blew it. Logged into my account this morning to buy and the sale is over. I've got 140 gear credits sitting in my account too. Ohh well.

You might be interested in the current sales, possibly. There's a big discount on crossgrades, for example when I add MixBox to my cart it's 50 bucks, and you can use jam points. I don't know anything about that product, but it's curious at least. Then there's the hammond organ, the drum thing, the bass thing, the sample thing. Worth looking at anyway. Or you could just wait for the next big amplitube sale, I'm sure there will be one.

I checked their website last night to see when the sale ended and quickly realized I only had about 20 minutes, LOL. For $18 it was an easy decision to make.

This is the older, first, Fender collection. Turns out, I already had Fender 2 anyway. Guess that's how often I'm using sims. ๐๐
