as an update Matt from Iron Age Audio contacted me and offered to help with a DIY solution. We exchanged emails as he worked up a very cost effective and simple solution which i've set about building.
i'll take it over to the DIY forum to track the build so big thanks to Matt for his selfless help.

I managed to get a small batch of Guillotines finished over last couple weeks, and they are available on my website.
Of note: This run I did with red and white LED's, there are no blue LED's. The front panel and knobs are the same, the back chassis is black powder coat instead of blue powder coat.
Improvements: The encoders feel a lot better than on the initial run, there is more "click" to them. Way happier about that.
I added some code to the front panel to allow the storing of settings, per band. If you press and hold the encoder for a couple seconds, the bypass LED for the band will blink several times, indicating it has stored the setting. The unit will load the stored setting at power on.
Regards
Jon

I’ll say it again you want filters on the cheap, just buy a used crossover, you want hardware and don’t mind digital buy an old BSS 9088 and a laptop, why adjustable filters and fun with filters because you get to choose the filter type and slope.

I still want someone to build a sweepable high / low pas with a all pass for phase alignment!

I like SSL filters, and almost clicked buy thinking these would be a quick and easy build but then I looked again and I do not get why anyone would want a blend control on a filter. 1st Filters are pretty much an all or none tool, usually trying to solve a problem. 2nd a filter by its very nature is going to introduce phase shift, why would I want to introduce weird phase issues? I get that you don’t have to use them but being the ham fisted idiot who can’t feel in most of one hand I just know I would inadvertently bump them and then spend an hour trying to figure out what I did. IMO the front panel and PCB space would be better served by either giving us the above mentioned All pass for phase alignment or some different slope or filter type / shape options.

I still want someone to build a sweepable high / low pas with a all pass for phase alignment! That would be really cool. In the digital realm you can have sweepable filters and an allpass in a single interface if you use DMG Equality. I am often baffled by design decisions. I find mix blend controls to be, for the most part, a waste of electronics and panel real estate. Most new stuff has them. I don't know why. Putting them on a eq is really weird. However, thinking about it, isn't the blend control effectively a variable slope?
