Gotta admit this looks pretty cool. If you are someone, like me, who uses SSL strips a lot (bx_9000J for me) this is tempting. Feels a bit like a toy I don't need but my birthday is coming up. Maybe I can drop just the right BB gun stye hint to someone. Check out the video demonstrating "mouse mode" with the pre-loaded bx_9000J parameters. Not bad at all. www.rocksolidaudio.co.uk/product-page

I wonder if the SSL controller is very FRAGILE.

I wonder if the SSL controller is very FRAGILE. Took me a second. I see what you did there!

That's the idea I had for touch OSC, but he lost me when I saw his demo video. He's talking 15 minutes things which are unimportant to demonstrate the unit.

Around the same price too. is nOb available again? I ordered three weeks ago. Mailing list, jumped on the notification right away. Closed down same day. The thing is very very well made. Smaller than I thought which I’m actually glad about. My only concern is the USB cable is hardwired so it can’t be easily replaced if it gets damaged. Considering how often these cables get damaged that’s a fairly significant concern for an expensive device.

If it’s a wire on the outside it must solder inside, likely not so hard to replace. Only need worry if the port gets damaged?

I'm more and more interested in proper MIDI controllers, not necessarily generic multi use ones. So yeah, looks cool for exactly that, an SSL channel.

Yeah this seems cool. I do lean on the 9000J a lot.

So you have to just take the unit apart to unplug it and replace it. Maybe anyways?

I am the last person you want taking apart electronics unless your goal is for them to never work again. I'm sure it's an easy solder job at worst, but it's still one of those things that you assume they'll fix in future versions. I would never want to pack the thing up in a bag and take it on the road for instance because of the cable. Which kind of stinks because that would be a great use for this device. Also, used this for a 9 hour tracking session yesterday. Fantastic. Particularly great for the super-tiny, nearly invisible sliders that Studio One is inexplicably fond of (another post for another day).
