Capi LC25s and Iron Age LH95 are the Sh!t.... !!! I'm halfway there. I've got the LC25's (fav CAPI EQ) and the LH95's are next on my EQ list. Current 500 favs are the API 550A-1's and LC25's. The original LilPEQr's with Marinairs are also up there.

I wanted a pair of those LilPEQr's way back when!? I wonder if the new one sound as good? You will dig the iron age BTW... I am gonna put the new CAPI op amps in the LC25s to see if it levels them up even more....

. . . I am gonna put the new CAPI op amps in the LC25s to see if it levels them up even more.... I have been wanting to know more about the op amp choices and the general character of each. It seems like there are quite a few choices now.

Seems that it would be a long shot to truly match the Marinairs's but who knows. Yes, I'm sure I'll dig the IAA's. Let us know how the new op amps work for you on the LC's!!

DIYRE EQP5s are great, fun and easy to build/mod as you wish CAPI LC25/40 is great too I think, I love the switches on them. Seriously the IAA LC95 is baller, I really need more of them. I really want an e27 pair BT50 is on my list to get and try And I preorded some LinkAudioDesgins SSL EQ clones that just came out that look super promising. I've got a pair of Link Audio Design SSL EQs I'm now building that I ordered from the first batch. Hope you paid for the express shipping. It took 3 months to get these. I ordered another pair. I've got 11 - SSL pres in a 51x rack that I need some EQs for. They are a time consuming build.

The LH95 looks interesting but I can’t find much feedback/user reviews on them.

The Avedis E27s are a standout choice. They make things larger just running things through them!

Little Devil EQs are gutsy. Years ago I had a pair of the Little Devil EQs that I had to sell for financial reasons - I miss them a ton. They made everything YUGE! I even tongue-in-cheek asked Wade why with such a crowded face plate did they waste real estate on bothering to include a bypass switch 😛 Someday I’ll grab another pair. I also love the sound of the E27 and currently have a throuple of Chop Shops (may sell the odd man out one of these days to spice things up... maybe a 😈?)

No brainer for sure.

Is that the Mark 1 or did they make 2 different versions? spock would know for certain. I know the Lil Devil id universally recognized as an incredible surgical EQ.

They have since signed a contract that avails the faster shipping option. I would have gladly paid the extra funds.

What op amp do you currently have in your LC25s? And please update us on how the new capi opamp sounds in your lc25s when you can!

550A for me. Fast, gut reaction type of EQ that has that addictive heft. The Electrodyne is sneaky good. I didn't think it would be useful at all... and then it's "pretty" if that makes sense.
I've been curious about the DIYRE pultec-ish ones. Sounds like they are good for the price and get some good results.

BAE 1073D! More budget friendly than the full rackmount units. If you just want EQ, they also have a 73EQL. Didn’t like the AML - great value for both pre and EQ, but the EQ section was barely better than the UAD plugin.
Kush Electra is my favorite electric guitar EQ.
Helios was my favorite bass EQ, RIP. Maybe the Q2 version will stack up.
Avedis E27 proved a little too “zingy” for me (not sure if it’s the xfo or opamp), but are also great in their own right.
API 550 is one of the few that I felt was comparable enough in Acustica form to ditch the hardware.
Curious about the Chandler TG12345 - just wish it had another band. Love the Curve Bender.

Just ordered the BAE EQLs. It took a while for those to be available, so I had to grab them while they were around. Still have Iron Age LH95 on my list. Hmmm - 500 series eq - I hope is in the thoughts and minds of the awesome Audio-scape people!

More votes for the E-dyne 511, the HA73eqJr, and the A Designs MEPQA.
I also like the Phoenix EQ. I have it in the Ascent Two model. I really like that preamp as well.
The Maag EQ4 gets regular run here. The Kush Clariphonic is here, too, but I find I'm not using them all that much. I should revisit those, I think.
I always seem to buy EQ's in pairs. I've got a couple empty 500 slots (I sold my Kush Electras). So, I'm shopping. I've got DIY skills...might head that way. I find that as the years go by I like simple more and fiddly less.

Welcome aboard! Love the E-dyne and the heritage 73eq jr. I think you mean the A designs em-peq - should be on a spelling bee because of its difficult name! And the a designs unit is great. And the phoenix is great and underrated. I have not tried the Kush. I agree about buying in pairs. It is a habit of mine as to anything that is a mono device.

I can't keep up with all these Pultec-type EQ's (and, I just bought the AS mid-range EQ. I do like the way they sound, though. The Kush sounds nice, but I find it kinda fiddly. Same for the Clariphonic. It's probably why I don't use it as much, even though its high-end frequency handling capabilities are quite good. I've flirted with the idea of a couple Helios-styled EQ's. Not sure I'm quite there with my (perceived) cost-to-performance ratio. I'd have to try them first. I use the UA and Waves emulations consistently. I didn't have to try the Electrodyne, as I'd owned 4 710L's for years. ETA: The Chandler Little Devil looks like something I could really latch onto. Love the frequency choices and the build quality. I'm an unabashed Chandler fan.
