when mixing 88.2, I've set the max auto delay comp samples of 32,767(represented by the click track), the Fabfilter Pro Q causes much more latency than PT10 can apparently handle?(i'm using FF proQ in linear phase mode, and i'm not changing that, i'm OTB, my computer is handling it perfectly. Mind you, this problem would exist with one instance...it's PT....again), I have PT11 also, but haven't opened up that can of worms yet, is there an EASY way to deal with the gap in ADC, short of sticking a Pro Q LP on every channel, or breaking out a calculator and delay plug ins? Mellow muse ATA doesn't have AXX, and i'm going to 11....SMH fist at sky Pro tools!!! any ideas, or info appreciated thanx T

What if you ticked Pro q down one step? Linear phase max is a monster on that plug. I just use it regular mode and love how it sounds, but if you're pretty stuck on keeping it there it looks like DC won't keep up with it. All you could do is disable DC and break out the calc and start delaying which is a nightmare IMO.

Thanx Jerome, You would STILL have the issue with only one instantiation of linear phase, i guess you're supposed to only use it on the 2 buss? i loaded up a bunch of them on 32 tracks, i'm not even close to hitting the ceiling(which is awesome 8), so i'll just use one on every channel out to my console and call it macaroni for now, its not the best, but when dandeurloo is done with his harrison for filter kit, i'll get some of those and save a bunch going OTB

Why don't you use 44.1 or 48Khz like most people who run studios lol

I've never used anything above 48, maybe that's why I've never had an issue with it. I normally run all my sessions at 48, most of the stuff I get in is either in 44.1 (most of the time) or 48, if I get something higher I always sample down, but that's just me, I personally can't hear any difference.

Fab Filter suggests using Linear phase on your mastering bus because it causes extreme latency. It's a tricky mode to use as it is nearly impossible to automate in linear phase without making audible clicking sounds. As a normal track EQ, zero latency mode has more of the phase characteristics of the hardware EQs we are used to. Dave Gamble Equilibrium does this as well, and there were a bunch of white papers released about it a few years back-though I can't recall where I read them.

Yeah - you're gonna be hard pressed getting Max latency at 88.2...

I realize i'm kookoo for doing it this way, but i've actually worked it out, i just instantiate a linear phase on every channel, then bypass where i'm not using it. I put something like 40 instances and only hit 50% cpu, and that should even get better in PT11 with its smart cpu allocation, of course i'm mixing hybrid, i'll do the filtering and big eq moves in the box, and then once it's out it stays out till capture. I gotta tell you, it sounds amazing cleaning the hash and garbage off the top and bottom with no resonant bumps and dead in phase, i thought my waves linear did well, the Pro Q is making it look bad! I went in and swapped out HP/LP filters only, and i swear the mixes opened up and focused more, I'll get dandeurloo's harrison ford filter kit for the vibey, resonant HP/LP stuff OTB
