AFL from SSL X-Desk to Slate Control Solo Logic

Sort of a silly little DIY hack, but was looking over the manual for my Slate Control monitor control the other day and noticed that there's a logic circuit for a solo mode as this thing can be used like a center section.  It got me thinking about how I could pick off the AFL output of my SSL X-desk Link connector so that when I solo a channel on the X-Desk it would route the solo bus through the Slate Control.  This little reed relay did the trick at interfacing the two logic circuits!  However there is a level drop on the solo bus from the SSL so looks like I'll need to add a makeup gain stage.
