So many stories involving guns, threatening artists. even apparently shooting a gun in the studio with John Lennon. Just today got me thinking.. wondering if the whole obsessed fan story w/Lennon was just a sad attempt at insanity plea to cover a hired job, like after John dissed him or something. Never thought about it before, but they were pretty close and the guy was nuts.

That's fun to watch. It reminded me of kind of a cool story. Some friends of mine had a band for a long time and one of them (or maybe one of their buddies, I can't quite remember) was dating Alan White's daughter. Alan would be at their shows sometimes and he was always really nice (I'm a huge Yes fan so I'd try to chat him up any time I could). Anyway he was having a party at his house and he wanted these guys to play at it. They were talking about what gear to bring and my buddy (the drummer) was talking about bringing his drum kit and Alan was like "Nah nah, you don't need to bring one, I've got lots of drums". So the party rolls around and they go out there to play it and Alan's got that kit, the one from Imagine, set up. So that's the kit my buddy played that night. For a classic rock and gear nerd (which both of us are), it was pretty amazing.
