I got a 2nd hand Neumann K103 capsule very cheaply, and want to do something nice with it. It is the capsule found in the Neumann TLM 103. Earlier, I have built a pair of D67 (U67 clones), and had fun doing that (and I also therefore alrady have a pair of very decent LDCs). What I might like to build, is for instance something that could be used for outside kick drum. I'm good at following instructions, assembling kits etc, but I am no electronics engineer, and I don't have much test equiment outside voltmeter and using my mac as a tone generator and simple analyser. Does anyone have any suggestions for a suitable kit? I was looking at the D-47FET from Vintage Microphone PCB Kit, but that seems to be for a different two-sided capsule, and not the single sided K103. Would that be something one could work around?

…a possible alternative (if SDC and LDC capsules are interchangeable (are they…?)) would maybe be to use a broken AKG D202 I have as a donor body, and build a Schoeps or KM84 kit that would fit inside the body; is that electronically feasible?
