That's an UNREASONABLY outrageous price, but yeah. Something like that. Add another 7 interfaces....

HDX with Avid and Lynx interfaces here too. No issues with hardware inserts. Never had to manually calculate round trip latency.

Used market will be your friend if you do decide to go this route!

Good to know, drbill, and yeah...I've steered away from Avid's own stuff because it's marked up so much... I'll definitely buy used, seawell, if I eventually go for these!

The HD I/O are going for around 2k on the used market right now. I know because I just sold two of mine off which I bought five years ago used for a little less than that. I thought for sure I’d lose money on those converters but surprisingly they have held their used price value.

I am using older converters, Lynx Aurora 16s (with LTHD cards) and Avid/Digidesign 192 i/o's mainly. If I understand you correctly, yes I can run multiple HW inserts. As long as the gear on the inserts are patched to the corresponding i/o (ie: 76A is patched to input 3 and output 3). I'm running 56 hardware inserts currently (32 mixed compressors, EQs, etc.. and 8 stereo FX processors/reverbs). Then we have an additional 56 i/o used for mic inputs, summing outputs, monitoring outputs and headphone outputs.

Excellent, it seems the new n control GUI, doesn’t allow for more than 1 stereo ob pair, so I can use my ssl clone on my 2 bus, but nothing else.
I spoke to Paul on FB Lynx site, he talked about being able to mirror, same signal to more then one insert which was not what I wanted.
I think I will just launch a cs request. I love the Aurora sound but never had an i/o set up problem with my symphony mkii.

I just starting tinkering with Logic after not using it for years and you can't use channels 1 & 2 for hardware inserts even if you've reassigned the stereo output to something other than 1 & 2. Seems a bit silly but searching around other forums confirms this. I've tested with my Aurora(n). Here's a screenshot showing 5 auxes with hardware inserts. Bus 4 routes to 1/2, Bus 5 routes to 3/4, etc. You can see that Logic will not pass audio out to channels 1/2 even with stereo output routed to 31/32. But I am able to run 4 other stereo hardware inserts without issue. www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0io6BIwUi4RiL_3nuZXbcJqag#hardware-inserts-in-logic

Thx, Interesting.was not trying to use 1-2, what OS are you running ?
Are you able to send 3-4 and return also on 3-4 without delay?

Running Big Sur. Yes I have all of the hardware inserts returning on the same channel they are sent. So 3/4 come right back on 3/4. I did the ping and it set the delay at "-1". I don't hear any comb filtering so it seems spot on to me.

Apollo and Protools are not reporting the latency properly OR console is doing something.
I’ve recently gone hybrid and have been trying to get this working and has been a total dumpster fire.
Unfortunately protools doesn’t allow negative samples in the delay box in the I/O. I’ve tried using all the various forms of input latency but no dice.
Even when routing AUX channels to outboard it does the phase comb filtering.
Unfortunately I had to close Protools and Jump over to reaper. Let me just say, with all my toys here…… My computer is feeling extra powerful.
