You know sometimes making irrational decisions turns out to be very rational in the end. I pre ordered FOUR sa-660s the day it was announced ... after using my SA-670 for a while now and knowing they will not be produced in the future, turns out to be a pretty solid decision. All my stam gear has gone up in value from what I paid being day one deposit. LOVE STAM can't wait for my 33609 either. but extra stoked for my doom rack of stamchilds

Interesting how there is no Stam logo on the faceplate. That is interesting! Hadn't noticed that.

Glad to see Stam audio changing for the better! Stam refunded me & I’m appreciative he did right by me Also saw that they have repair techs in USA & Europe now! That’s huge.. Hopefully Blackdawg will have a quick turnaround. Likewise Blackdawg can sell his buss comp once fixed & make sure to state “ this item has been verified, authenticated, & tested to be in perfect working condition by an authorized Stam tech “ so having the unit sent off may be a blessing in disguise.

I hope it is ok to mention on this thread that I just received a Heritage 609 to check out and it is fabulous and amazing versatile. I have no idea how it compares to the Stam.

Been waiting for the SA4K mkII since I paid my deposit August 2018 Every month for the last year I send the same polite email asking about the status of my order
I ain't giving up now I want that compressor and I see units are getting out to other people but I sure hope that Stam clears out their overdue back orders very soon and doesn't do this sort of thing in the future
I did get a pair of SA73 pre/eq channels last June as a thanks for waiting so long deal. Those preamps are the bomb so that has kept me happier in the meantime.
However seeing other customers receive products that were not yet in existence when I placed my deposit is a burn

Josh posted in one of the other threads here a couple of days ago , that he is focussing on the back log, rationalizing his products and stopping some that are too labour intensive and small runs and no preorders. Hopefully, you get your 4kmkii soon!

Also saw that they have repair techs in USA & Europe now! That’s huge.. They've had US repair for at least a few years. It was NRG in 2018 when I had to have my SA4000 repaired (+$300 with shipping costs). Now it's SES Audio, where I'm sending my same unit in for repair for the same issue as last time (output level on one side is several db below the other). Edit: I'm politely refraining from sharing the details of what was offered to me due to this trouble and expense because none of what was offered has remotely materialized.

Perhaps, but it does seem there is more truth in it, as he was quite forthcoming about how a couple of pieces have consumed way more resources than expected. I also noted a very improved tone, nothing argumentative, just owning the problem and presenting remedies. So, this post struck me differently.

I haven’t dealt with anything Stam related since he refunded me. When I was having issues w/ my unit the only way to resolve was to send back to Chile. It was the SA4k mk1. I waited awhile like everyone else. I thought Stam paid for shipping & repairs? I have seen Stam customers state that before. Sorry to hear you having issues. Hope you get the results you want from the situation.

I have offered Bat a free upgrade to an MK2 and to return the MK1 to our tech to be be re-sold as B stock. I consider this a fair offer since he has had trouble twice with it.
Not only does it sound a lot better, it also has a lot more features and it has the DBX 202C gold cans replicas inside.
The MK2 will be shipped this coming week at my expense.

I don’t want to complain very much about Stam - obviously the gear is superb and Josh has been very gracious in our past dealings. I can see how busy they are working at producing top notch gear under the most crazy circumstances if anything it has to do with my order – seemingly - not keeping its place in the queue and I don’t know for sure if that is the case or to what extent. Also a bit of the squeaky wheel syndrome that I have to keep in touch periodically to confirm for myself that the order is not buried amidst the overall scramble. Not a huge deal and obviously the past year has been completely abnormal. I expect this new compressor come through in the next month or two and put a big smile on my face.

Not only does it sound a lot better, it also has a lot more features and it has the DBX 202C gold cans replicas inside. The MK2 will be shipped this coming week at my expense. I appreciate what Josh is suggesting doing. I think it's also important to add some details so this transaction is clear to others reading the thread. This was originally offered to me back on Nov. 29th after I contacted Jeff at SES Audio for the repair. I guess that contact was relayed or something because that's when the offer came in. Sounded fine to me and fair upgrade with the added expense of the last repair (2018 at NRG) and impending shipment of my faulty unit back for another repair. Josh emailed me and asked a person named Sori to "send me a unit within 10 days". I didn't hear anything further on it and nothing arrived. When I posted my comment about the 2nd repair on this thread a few days ago, I got another DM from Josh asking about the issue with my 4K and where I was located. I copy/pasted the original DM from above and sent that back. Josh cc'd me on another email yesterday to Sori to send me one Monday. I'm a huge fan of the people making less expensive recreations of what is usually unobtainable gear. I'm eager to support Stam and will gladly buy a 609 when they're stocked. I just don't have the time or energy to engage in transactions with so much misery attached to them. Just not my thing and not conductive to my creative mindset when I'm working in my studio. I'll also support Stam and report back on my impressions of the MKII when that time comes. Edit: Added year for 1st repair

Incredible ... build quality is amazing, I had a small issue with mine but Josh had me sorted with it being repaired by a top class expert tech in Toronto at no charge (edit: I live an hr away so no shipping was required). To have access to such a brilliant remake at that price point is pretty awesome. Nothing but good things to say. Great on everything tracking and light touches on 2bus insert via silverbullet along with pair of stam EQ1PAs is awesome. I can't wait till covid is done so i can do some more live off floor tracking thro it with full bands.

stam Hey Josh, I received a request to pay a second 300 deposit/installment on the 33609. It’s probably been a month. I haven’t paid it. Does that negatively impact my place in line?

No sir, second deposits are optional and don't alter your place in line Josh I'm waiting on an SA-47 that I submitted a deposit for earlier in the year, which was an adjusted plan since with my initial order of the SA-v76, it was suggested that I cancel due to delays. I'm wondering if you have any ETA on the SA-47? My deposit has been in for a little over a year now.
