i reeeeeeeeally wanted to, but my laptop screen broke over the weekend and I’m trying to formulate a plan of what to do... Well, screw it. I'll just deal with the broken laptop screen. I gotta hear this mic. And you guys will need to hear it, too. So it's kind of a public service thing I'll be doing for everybody.

Mine is still in transit so you will get yours before mine arrives. Nice. Looking forward to gearing your thoughts.

Carlos told me last night it should be ready by mid-week (this week). I'll just drive right over to Chapel Hill and pick it up from him. Hopefully I can clear out some time later this week or weekend to do another shootout demo similar to the last one I did with the Soyuz 017FET and Stam 67.

I’ve got a vintage 87 and the samples on the Serrano website are super close. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

I no longer have my vintage 87 unfortunately but I do have a pair of Beesneez BU87i C that I'd love to hear this against.

Man, over the years this has pissed me off about soooooo many mics. I get the fact that you have to loose something to hit a price point, and I know probably 90% of the 87 in particular have never been in any pattern other than cardiod BUT with every condenser I have ever personally owned the goal has always been a versatile stereo pair. Even for just a vocal mic I’m going to flip through the patterns to find that magic, sometimes people think to much about theoretical patterns rather than reality.

I have one on the way as well, was supposed to arrive today but didn't (not surprised). Have shifts 3/5 days this week so probably won't get to play with it till next year, but will try to post a few clips when it arrives.

Greetings everyone! Starting now, for Black Friday until Cyber Monday (Nov. 30) Serrano Audio is now offering $150 off on the Serrano 87 microphone. The coupon code is “BlackFriday” This means you can purchase the Serrano 87 for $650. Order on www.serranoaudio.comWe have a couple of reviews here www.gearslutz.com/board/reviews/1320708-serrano-audio-87-a.htmlStock is limited as each one is built by hand, one at a time, in North Carolina. They will ship out in 1 week max! Happy and joyful recording! Welcome to RGO, impressive sounding mic, the best Advice I can give is to get a demo in to the hands of JK or Vincent. We all know there voices and Vincent’s wife’s well enough at this point to judge it quickly and frankly both offer a degree of vocal talent that you would be hard to beat. Actually if the mic is as good as your clips getting a Demo in the hands of the majority of the talent here is a no brainer and a great way to sell a bunch of mics. I think back to all of the multi-day mic demos I did 20 years ago at Full Compass and how LDC’s have multipled like bunnies and my head spins. These days it’s hard to establish a new brand of mics. There are just to many options and all the rebranded generic Chinese condensers with pretty paint jobs don’t make it any easier. Best of luck. As a general rule, I dislike mics with "pretty paint". Mics shouild be grey, siver, or black (or sometimes brown...). That'a not to say that there are no good mics with bright colors, just that I won't be ordering them.

Didn’t you win a really nice mic with a pretty paint job on this site? It’s just soooo much easier to be positive than it is to be negative. Wishing you a happy and healthy ‘21, John.

Arrived quick test to make sure it works. Lovely indeed. Now to sell all my other U87 clones. I was quite surprised at the weight of this mic. Feels very nice. Very well constructed. Better then then the 3 x Stam SA87's I have owned over the years. The Fig of 8 is quite nice and the cardioid is not too over heavy in Proximity effect. Ships with a very decent shock mount.
The mic is quiet. I like what I hear. I like very much what I hear. This mic is a keeper. 1 by BEANAT19, on Flickr
