Just got an unsolicited, extremely biased, slandering email from Soundtoys regarding an upcoming event in November that's completely unrelated to making music or their plugins.
I didn't sign up on their mailing list for off-topic "news" -- I'm a customer that gave them an email while buying their products. It's a misuse of my contact information.
I filed a ticket with their support to let them know, but I think it deserves a callout. Poor judgement on Soundtoys part.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I understand their concern, but they're preaching to the choir and it's a message that wont serve to convince anyone who wasn't already planning to do what was discussed in the email.

Oh brother. It's ok for a company to take a stance, and it's very ok for them to use their platform to help people who need it figure out how to vote given the amount of rampant corruption we're witnessing in real time. I think this is coming from a well intended place.
EDIT - Political content deleted

Far beyond mind blowing. I've been aware and suspected for years. But I had no freaking idea.... A must see for anyone who uses a smart phone or computer on the planet.

I want to, but the reality is that we're bound to the technology. So for the sake of managing my mental health, watching the doc is not too high on my to-do list.

No matter your politics the smart move for any company is stay beige, and try to get people to vote. The second you show a political leaning you piss ofc 45% of your customer base. It’s funny because there are companies who’s products I love and am very loyal to who are very loud about the fact that they disagree with me and many who are equally as loud about agreeing with me, but frankly the old gearpimp in me isn’t all that thrilled nor that evangelical about any of them because I know they are going to piss off a bunch of people.
So here is my apolitical political statement to all in the US! I don’t care to hear your politics when it comes to gear let’s talk gear. But all of you left or right just VOTE!

Well I guess it depends on if you agree with them or not. I thought it was a bold move.

I've got no problem with an audio company sending out information about how to register and how to vote....but telling me who to vote for is where it gets annoying.

If they're giving my information to another company, it's bullshit. If they're soliciting me to vote a certain way, I'll never buy another product.

If they happen to agree with me I probably won't care. If they violently (not literal, but) disagree, they may have lost a customer. I have several friends who are on the other side of the political spectrum and since I don't like to think of my friends as "idiots" we simply don't talk about it. That's the best way.
Where it gets tricky is where provable science gets involved. One thing I proudly admit to believing in is science.

I thought it was a bold move. For some strange reason, I didn't get the email. Anyone care to elaborate a bit more instead of hedging the details....

Pathetic use of their email list and poor, poor judgement on their part.

As long as they are prepared to deal with any and all backlash that can/will occur, I don’t have much of a problem with it. I’m sure they knew they would receive complaints and because of their views are ready and willing to receive it.

I applaud Soundtoys for taking a stand. I wish more companies would. I don't expect everyone on this site to agree and that takes guts on Soundtoys part--they know they're going to take a hit financially and are willing to stand up and do so. They sent an email telling you what their concerns are about voting. They did not sell your info, nor misrepresent you in any way. I would suggest that if their politics concern you vote with your wallet just as I have by not shopping at Home Depot during this election.

It’s the fact they did it in my account that l signed up for there plugin news , not political views . If they want to take out tv ads , magazine or radio or whatever that’s fine by me . But it’s not what I agreed to there email list .
