It comes with Fusion IRs of Lex 24 and 48, Bricasti M7 and one library labeled "FS-1". I'm not sure what "FS-1" refers to. There are a lot of sounds in the stock Reverberate 3.

Those Waves IR's are pretty good. I have IR-1, it's probably not nearly as good as Reverberate 3, but I managed to design a few presets that I liked, using the Waves IR's.

Yes, it’s difficult to explain without being at the computer. I suppose I need to take the time to create presets, so I don’t have to navigate folders of IRs. Also I use Logic, maybe PT is different. I just finished building banks for my P2F IR libraries in Revereberate 3. To say I'm quite familiar with the process at this point would be an understatement. Select the 'Empty Bank', click 'Load IR', navigate to the lowest level folder for a library and select the first IR, click 'Saved Banks' and name it for the IRs in that folder, like 'EMT 140 v.2.' Then you can select a bank and scroll though all the IRs in that folder without changing the R3 settings.

this is the biggest no brainer in history... and i already have a bunch of their libraries. What a steal, especially if you have Reverberate 3

It’s a great deal if you want all that stuff. I mostly just want a couple of libraries. Not sure I really want to drop $100 on it. I wonder if this will be the only sale for BF. That would be weird, to only have a sale on the whole package.

That would be weird, to only have a sale on the whole package. That's usually the case, the only bargain being the whole enchilada. Everything shown in my R3 user presets was from a $60 Summer Bundle a few years ago, not much new I'm interested in adding.

OK, getting ready to demo this. I'm already a little confused, though, and I haven't even installed it yet. Ha! What I'm confused about is the big picture for the Liquidsonics product line. I don't understand: Doesn't this compete directly with Seventh Heaven, as it comes with Bricasti impulses? What am I missing here? Just that Seventh Heaven has a simpler, less intimidating interface? Why would one want both? Seems a little weird that Reverberate 3 touches on several other products: Seventh Heaven, Cinematic Rooms, maybe even Lustrous Plates? ragan, do the Bricasti impulses sound different/better in Reverberate as compared to Seventh Heaven?

I think the main difference is that R let’s you build a sample library and offers more treakability under the hood ?

Good questions. I'm not really sure either. Certainly it seems to overlap. On a whim, I bought the R3 and PTP impulses / package over Black Friday. I have yet to be knocked out by it. Still hopeful, but at this point it seems like just another contender in a long list of plugins in my DAW that rarely get used.

Reverberate used to be the only way to get the Bricasti fusion IR. Then 7th heaven appeared. Since I was only interested in the Bricasti, I bought it. I didn’t need any of Reverberate’s extra flexibility.

Yeah there's some overlap with the included Fusion IRs. You can use the same Bricasti Fusion IRs in Reverberate 3 that you use in SH. If I were going to just get one, I'd get Reverberate 3. But I like the layout of SH, the early/late slider is probably the most used thing for me. But other than that, I don't know how much crossover there is. The rooms/plates in Reverberate 3 are either your own IRs or the Fusion IRs that come with it, which are of various hardware units. For my part, if I had to have just one, it'd be Reverberate 3.

Thanks for this, Ragan. I’ve got the Slate Verbsuite Classics that I bought years ago, coded by LiquidSonics and utilizing Fusion-IRs. It’s hard for me to tell at this point how different it really sounds from Reverberate 3. Last night, I pulled up a Bricasti IR in R3 and what I think was the same Bricasti IR in Verbsuite Classics. It sounded really, really close. So if I essentially already have access to the various Fusion-IR units through Verbsuite Classics (more, actually, than are included with R3) and I already have a convolution reverb that can load 3rd-party IRs like the Past to Future IRs (Space Designer), it’s hard for me to know how big a difference R3 would really make. How much better is the R3 “engine” vs something like Space Designer or a different IR player? I need to experiment more. On a slightly different note, Cinematic Rooms sounds fucking incredible.

It should be exactly the same sound in Verbsuite Classics, Reverberate and Seventh Heaven.

How much better is the R3 “engine” vs something like Space Designer or a different IR player? I need to experiment more. On a slightly different note, Cinematic Rooms sounds fucking incredible. If you're just looking at convolving a given Fusion IR, I think the only material difference between R3 and Verbsuite Classic is going to be that VSC implements the late vs early reflections as if it were a traditional 'decay' time parameter. This requires some pre-processing of tails and things to work out correctly and is geared towards making convolution simple, with traditional controls. R3 is designed to be the ultimate IR playground. So it handles Fusion IRs but also offer a bunch of options for using standard IRs. It shows you the whole IR and you can tweak the envelope and windowing six ways to Sunday. Matt (Liquidsonics) did this so that you'd have ultimate control over any IR, not just his own proprietary Fusion thing. It really is amazing, if you want that sort of thing. I use it a lot with, say, the PTF IRs, where they're just traditional IRs. Being a card-carrying ELO fanboy, I use the Eventide H3000 IRs a lot (I don't actually know if he uses that unit, but it gets a lot of those sounds beautifully) and I mess with the envelope in R3. So I might take a longer modulated reverb and turn it into a slapback doubler. And then I might decide it's not actually the very beginning of the IR that I want to hear so I might slide the IR back, changing the window of what I'm hearing. It does all this seamlessly and sounds fantastic doing it, it doesn't sound like you're trying to do something with the IR that it doesn't want to do. You can also EQ the IR, modulate it in several ways, mix a couple of IRs together, EQ or modulate them individually in that blend. I love all of that stuff. But if you mainly just want to use the Fusion IRs in a 'normal' way, I don't think there's any reason to get R3. On the other hand if you use Space Designer with other IR libraries a lot and find yourself wishing you could tailor them more, R3 is pretty amazing for that.

I have this sort of itchy feeling that something's going to go down with Steven not updating Verbsuite Classics for Apple Silicon. I have nothing to support that notion whatsoever, just a feeling.
I'll also say that it's been kind of a pain with the VMR since I dumped the All Access Pass. I really don't use it much anymore (and haven't for quite awhile), but I pulled it up last night, and it just reminded me how much I dislike the whole rack thing. Figuring out what I've got licensed from having bought it before the Everything Bundle and getting it all sorted out is just kind of a wreck.

But it was the Slate bundle that made me a Liquidsonics fan, because Lustrous Plates was the only thing that filled the void left by the UAD EMT140 when I ditched UAD. And I always liked the Fusion IRs in VSC, though I always disliked the interface. The EQ and modulation just always did something I didn’t like. When I was demoing stuff to buy as I ditched the Slate rental and I fired up a demo of Seventh Heaven it was like a breath of fresh air. Just sounded so good and all the adjustments/parameters were exactly what I wanted them to be. I still love that plug. I bought SH, LP and Illusion (in a Black Friday bundle) and have been a really big Liquidsonics fan ever since.

I wonder if there's a way to get the Fusion-IRs out of VSC and into Reverberate?

VSC users get the Bricasti ones, but Reverberate users get all the Lexicon Fusion IRs along with the Bricasti stuff.
