Demoing this. It’s so good. And since I own 7H Pro, Illusion and Lustrous Plates it’s like $22 for me or something. If you’re looking for anything like this, give it a demo. Liquidsonics just has my number for reverb.

I agree! It is bringing back to life some old IR libraries I’ve collected over the years. Those loyalty discounts are the best.

You mean like it sounds better? Or just has more options?

You mean like it sounds better? Or just has more options? I think it sounds better because of the ability to tweak all of the extra options if that makes sense. Their Fusion-IR libraries included do sound better to me than standard impulse responses so I'm not sure what they are doing differently there but I like it! So right out of the box you get Fusion-IR libraries of the Bricasti, Lexicon 480 and 224. In addition to that, opening older IR libraries have new life because of the ability to add modulation, etc..

I keep checking in on a few instances of R3 and looking for the shine to wear off but I just really love it. 7H has that always full/lush sound that Bricasti is prized for. R3 has, like, everything else. The Lexicon stuff in R3 I find just totally addicting. Also amazing shorter room ambiences. I think I’ll have to be picking it up.

Just bought the Past to Future EMT 140 (Tape) IRs and put them in Reverberate 3. This is pretty special.

Here's the direct link to that library. Their site is a mess and I couldn't find it either at first. The search/filter doesn't work and the eternal load/scroll only sometimes gets down to the EMT140. This link should work: gumroad.com/l/JhxMQ

I've been running PastToFuture IRs via Convology XT but will definitely give them a try in Rev3 now, thanks! I grabbed PTF's summer bundle with 47 of their libraries in it a couple years ago.

I’m a bit obsessed with the R3/PTF combo. When the Black Friday sales hit I am gonna absolutely load up on PTF IRs. First on my list will be the H3000 (sounds like instant Jeff Lynne in the demos) and that Chamber pack.

I have some of their IRS but I could never find a good workflow to use them. I have Reverberate 2. How do you organize the IR libraries?

I have some of their IRS but I could never find a good workflow to use them. I have Reverberate 2. How do you organize the IR libraries? I’m not sure I understand the question. I just keep them organized by what library they are. So all the PTF EMT140 IRs live in one folder, the PTF Studer IRs live in another. Any other libraries have their own folders, etc.

Yes, it’s difficult to explain without being at the computer. I suppose I need to take the time to create presets, so I don’t have to navigate folders of IRs. Also I use Logic, maybe PT is different.

Ok yeah I'm not quite sure what you're after. In PT, a given plugin may have its own preset menus (integrated into the GUI) or the generic PT plugin shell has a preset menu. In Reverberate 3, if I want to load an IR, I just click on a button in the GUI that says "Load IR" and then I'm using the OS's menu system to identify the path to the IR. But once you're in that folder, if you click Reverberate 3 "Load IR" again, it takes you to that current folder. There are also arrow buttons to go through that current folder if you want to scroll through IRs without opening a file window.

How do you feel the 140 IRs compare to something like the UAD 140 or Waves AR Plates? I loved UAD's EMT140 but left UAD-land several years ago. It was one of the ones I really missed until LS Lustrous Plates came along. Bought the Waves AR one when it was $29. Pretty cool, though I didn't like it as much as UAD or Lustrous Plates. Using the PTF IR in Reverberate 3 sounds best of all to me. I was really shocked how much more I like it. It sounds so solid and has a lot of front to back depth. Just kind of sounds like a different animal to other plugins I've used. It's maybe worth noting that I have no idea if that's because it sounds more like a real EMT140. Never used one. And in one shootout I heard recently, I liked the real EMT140 least of all between it, UAD and Waves. Who knows. Either way, the PTF EMT140 IR in Reverberate 3 put a big smile on my face and that's all I really care about. There's one of the IRs free in the GS thread, the PTF guy posted it. I mean, I only use a handful of the IRs I got in the pack so you could grab that one and maybe that'd be all you need. Certainly enough to tell you whether you like the PTF/R3 setup or not.

So, if you have coupons and can grab for $50, a must buy ?

So, if you have coupons and can grab for $50, a must buy ? I dunno, subjective stuff of course. If I could only have one reverb, Reverberate 3 would probably be it. It runs LS Fusion IRs, comes with Lexicon stuff as well as the Bricasti stuff and can load regular IRs and offer amazing tweakability of them. For me it's more of a question of "are any of my other verbs must keep?" But I just like LS stuff so much I don't think I'll get rid of my other licenses. I really like the layout of Seventh Heaven Pro and won't stop using that, even though Reverberate 3 can run those same sounds.

One thing I really like in R3 is that I can EQ the IRs separately and then blend them with each other or with dry signal. Some of the PTF IRs of the 140 are really tubby but when you pull some of that out you're left with crazy good, ghosty, smokey plate sound. The first folder of samples is the least colored and I've been using those mostly, with little or no EQ on the IR itself. See what ya think. I love it. And again, you could grab that free one in the GS thread first and try it.

I'm actually liking this more than the UAD, which has been my go-to for years. Way more 3-dimensional, less ring-y, and blends in seamlessly. Just using Waves IR-L, too... color me impressed.

This has all sent me down an IR rabbit hole. If they have a good Black Friday sale, I'm grabbing a lot of PTF stuff.

Does it come with a good IR library, or do more need to be collected?
For example, the library size is a big selling point for Altiverb, and a big part of the sound.
