I just got my free copy. I only really just checked out some of the sounds. It sounds good. I know the goal of this light/free version is to get you hooked and in to buy one of the bigger versions. Still, there are some real usable samples here. www.spitfireaudio.com/bbcso/ |

I got the BBCSO Core version to get me through lockdown a few months ago when I couldn't get to my studio and man does it sound realistic. Great fun.

I did the survey and got it free too! Haven't used it in a track yet. It will be interesting to compare this to the IK Miroslav 2 which I also have.

Thanks for the heads up. Did the survey. Kind of odd that they make you wait two weeks for the license but oh well. I didn’t even know it existed 15 minutes ago. I can certainly wait a couple weeks.

Do you have to wait two weeks to get the download? Yes it happened just as advertised. They say they are "considering" your application, like it's some serious agreement or something, but I would think that everyone gets it for free, exactly 2 weeks after the submission date. I have a little bit of trouble with their installer, the Spitfire app, but eventually I've got all of mine installed. I recommend the LABS series too, also free, great unusual sounds. |

Spitfire makes some really lovely, wonderfully human stuff. I got their Olafur Arnalds Composer Toolkit pack a couple months ago when it was on sale, and it's just fantastic.

wow! just discovered this free VI library and its fantastic! i am writing my first symphony - just joking. but its giving a sparse pop song a symphonic, cineastic vibe. cant believe this is free and just 200 MB!

If I remember, this one made you have a live internet connection or it would not load. I'm usually disconnected (for multiple reasons, but one being my Wifi connection is spotty since my studio is located some distance from my house) so that was kind of a deal breaker for me.

I picked it up and they got me to buy a choir as well. I'm a sucker for good deals. I only have a couple choir libraries so this might actually get used.

The only thing I have from them is the Firewood piano which is pretty cool in a noisy old upright kinda way which was exactly what I was looking for. It was a surprisingly large file.
They do have some interesting freebies. If the file sizes aren’t too big.
