Im not a person who prays. But I'm praying in my own way for Burl.
I've received updates on what's happening. Their headquarters "Burly Acres" is literally ON the front line of the big wildfire in Santa Cruz county, CA. The flames have come within feet of their buildings multiple times in the last few days, but the firefighters, neighbors and the Burl guys have been able to fend it off so far.
Things have improved in the last couple days due to good weather but they're not out of the woods yet. The fire is only 20% contained.
So if you pray, meditate, send good vibes or whatever you do, please do it now, for Burl Audio. It's touch and go. Please send them good luck. The world needs Burl.
Thank you!
P.S. Please don't call or message them right now. They've got they're hands full!

Sending up a good thought for Burl!
I went to college down there and love that part of the world. Painful to see it burn.

But I read that the grove of 2000 year old redwoods has survived. Which makes sense. They must be in a fire resistant location to have lasted 2k years in the first place. Nature.

Very sad! I hope they will be ok. My best friends are also evacuated from SC mountains. I’m already hosting some evacuees from our local redwood fires, it looks like my friends and their 3 kids will be here next week. He said he took pictures of my old Jazzmaster and his bass, couldn’t fit them. I’m used to this though.. I hope they all pull through.

I live a few miles away in Santa Cruz. There has been heavy fog and moisture and cooler the last 2 days - as now - less wind - this may help Burl. (Air is bad here this morning though trapped by the marine layer)

Those massive trees will be scorched by the fires, but won't be destroyed. It's like you and I getting a severe sunburn or something similar. Incredible to think about, really. These trees have been through lots of fires through the centuries, perhaps even worse that what they're experiencing now. They are incredibly resilient.

I'll meditate for Burl, haha. I heard the original Charvel guitar equipment was destroyed in one of the recent bad fires out West maybe a year or two ago.
There's something very wrong with this world, there's just no way around it.

Anyone else curious about the route all these fires map out?

Prayers answered. Things are looking up! Firefighters are getting the upper hand and Burl seems likely to make it through. As long as the weather keeps cooperating... Still might be a couple weeks before they're allowed to repopulate the area...

Smoky up here in the North Bay today, and recently learned that a drummer I’ve recorded a bunch lost his family home, sadly. These fires are rough on the community.
