Jakob Erland here, I make these:
They're basically not available in non-mastering versions - they're stereo, and all controls are switches and detented (41clicks)potentiometers
Units being natively stereo, you'll never have to depend on switches for exact channel replication, that's done for you already. The 41 tactile clicks in potentiometers means clicks for each quarter of an hour from 7:00am to 17:00pm - making recall setting very intuitive and easily readable, while still providing you with continuous control(yes you can use in-between-steps if you need to)
Stereo controls are made to track very good across conservative settings and adequately across extreme abuse cases. Yes, we cheat to achieve this - it's not something that's possible using standard electronic parts.. :-)
Up until around 2006 we made fully-switched (Elma 23-step) versions of all our units on demand, but these being character pieces, users will really want fine-grained control over operation rather than rough approximate settings, so over the years nearly all the switch-based units has been reverted to potentiometers (bar a few "showcase" units still on display).
Frank "OneF-Sound" Oglethorpe distributes us in the USA. You know, the Maselec/Prism guy.. He has demo units at hand..
