Anyone else here using these? I don't make any money off them, but I am just FLOORED. Essentially the SSL mixing 2 buss. (With the associated bajillion surface mount parts on the bottom....). Never been a HUGE fan of the SSL sound, but following a Silver Bullet, these bring that modern CLA / SSL driven sound so easily for me - which is sometimes exactly what you need. Especially these days. Being able to drive and blend back in makes it so much easier than trying to drive a 4000 into the sweet spot. Loving them here. They are staying and getting USED for sure!

I would love to try these out with my Silver Bullet, but I don't have a 500 series rack.. Waiting for the DIYRE rackmount unit.

I didn't know they existed.
I built a 9kJ summing system for my mixer and it's been one of the greatest things I've done in the studio.

Hinted at for awhile before that. Obviously not a "summer" per se but it definitely gets right to that SSL driven master section thing that everyone and their brother with an SSL 4000 console has learned to milk. Especially in the rock world.

Any chance that there'll be a rack version of this?

Any chance that there'll be a rack version of this? I am not aware of any plans for one. You could get a 2 Space 1RU 500 rack and mount 2 MrFocus' in it. Lobby Brad @ LTL if you want to see them in a rack.

Any chance that there'll be a rack version of this? diyre has a rack stereo pre coming out thst has 3 slots per side. its been delayed so I don't know when it hits. as for the hitmaker... ive been raving about it since I grabbed them a few months back.. they for me r the most apparent sounding modules.jusr instant gratification and u can push the hell out of them. I actually said... the tiny ass hitmaker does ssl better then my warm buss comp. here's hoping Brad does a ssl bus comp module ala the implode. id be fine with 2 ratios, slow attack and auto release.

So many forms of distortion are used in our trade. It's crazy. Most of them are very useful!

Interesting...I have plenty of options, but I would like to give these a go. I’ve been threatening myself again to buy something...😱. I want to try a focus II chain for vocals, what is your LTL vocal chain? And I want to try a set of the HM4000/Blue Transformer/API Transformer on my 2 Buss. What plugins are you using on a vocal? Is there a bandaxall eq as well in the focus II? I guess I need more info

Is there a bandaxall eq as well in the focus II? I guess I need more info I'm not doing that many vocals these days, but when I do, it's all over the map with everything from dynamics, to ribbons to LDC's and even occasionally SDC's so the mic pre and chain vary a lot. When it comes to mixing, I'm rarely using plugins on a vocal other than delay and/or reverb. If there's a tricky EQ problem, I might use the FF EQ to get at resonant problems. Otherwise I'm using the API or Miad hardware EQ's - along with other hardware comps, etc.. The MrFocus does not have a baxandall EQ built in. (The Silver Bullet does, and you may be confusing that one....) It has a tilt filter/EQ. Which I find very useful. Especially for tracking.
