I thought they did a good job with Modo Bass. I haven't demo'd this, so I don't know if it's accurate, but the early reviews I've read on Modo Drum are mixed with some users not into the sounds, and others saying there wasn't full flexibility to remove FX in some places.

Yeah after listening to some of the audio samples, I’m kinda meh.

Breathtaking there is zero machine gun effect....

That kind of hit randomization is standard in any drum VI, at least going back as far as I've been using them (started with the original Slate Trigger about ten years ago).
This thing sounds pretty cool. I don't think it has quite the realism of SD3 but it seems like a viable option and the modularity is a cool idea.

Playing a snare roll in Addictive Drums 2, even though they use round ribbon, still sounds like machine gun to me. Nor did they sampled multiple stick positions on the snare.

Seems like they going out of business.... selling all their know how to a different company, but they don't name the new brand.

Uwe, the creator & CEO, is back - after a long battle with medical issues. He emailed me & stated that it'll work with the latest Kontakt

I've ignored these for a while but I see that if you buy their Hammond B-3X right now, you can get Modo Drum and Modo Bass for free so I'm re-considering...

Did anyone ever settle on this one for regular use? I think the concept is great, and I’ll dial in a sound that feels like I might be onto something, but it usually falls apart when I compare it to a half-decent sampled kit.

I actually just wanted to steal the midi grooves for SD3 but never worked it out.

It’s a shame because I like how Modo replicates bleed, and gives you modeled overheads, and goes beyond the limits of round robins.
