I bought a KM56 (actually 256) on german eBay 10 yrs ago. Love it on acoustics. Two years ago I bought another one (256) from Tony Arnold. Unfortunately the PSU was bad on the latter so I decided to send both mics to Andreas Grosser for check, and let him build one of his beautiful dual channel PSUs for my pair. Andreas just called and told that both mics are in great shape (the expensive 701 tubes, the capsule etc etc) even if they're not perfectly stereo matched, good enough to use as stereo pair. His assistant told me this is quite unusual for KM56 with original parts. No need to replace capacitors, resistors etc. They'll be making new cables and the PSU and I'll have them back next week. YES!
