Not a bad price on the Trident but I bought my Oram 8T board for $2500 and if the 80B remake is anything like the Toft ATB, the channels on the Oram in my opinion are just flat out better!

The 80B that I had was actually pretty cool, I just didn't like it on 2 buss. I was expecting fixed frequencies and it's variable. I know that it has Lundahl transformers in it too, which the Toft doesn't have, so I imagine that it's in a different league than the Toft. The A Range has Sowter's I guess.

At $500/channel of transformer balanced Pre and EQ, it's a pretty good deal. There aren't too many decent pres or eq's in that price range, let alone both.

Channel Strip is really good on OH's lolo. Really anything you want to put it on, works really good for a lot of stuff. I know one pretty high up mixing engineer in Nashville that sent me his template little while back and on the Vox channel it was his first in the chain. He was using almost all of it's functions, I was surprised, but it sounded damn good. Really interesting how he did the vocal... he made a duplicate of it with the same exact plugins and settings on both tracks, panned them hard left and right (essentially mono) and that's how he mixed his vocal.... I guess his think would be insanely small changes in the plugins latency would create a bigger vocal.

Pro tools only I was very close to doing the same last night (on nuendo lio8 / burl b2 here) so I feel for you. The best I can suggest is to contact the always extremely cool MH and inquire as I've heard a rumor (again, a rumor) they're close? or atleast on a path to vst support for the channel strip. That aside, maybe the seller would issue a return under the circumstances. I'll bet you can sort it out though.

I heard the same thing too. It'd make sense because of the upcoming hardware changes and support for Windows/USB...
EDIT: Just read this on another forum:
So, maybe this'd help… or not. Still good to know...

I picked it up as I had a troublesome vocal take that I was throwing multiple chains of plugs and trying to wrangle it into submission.
Honestly, I didn't expect much from the plugin. I got it expecting it to be purely clean versatile and that it would have a low impact on the CPU.I have to say, it is much better than I expected and does have a bit of color. It did solve my issue too.

Although there is currently no timeline as to when it will be available, the VST version will be on the same license as the units that have been already purchased."

I'll just have to wait then. Still got it at this great price. Hopefully the wait wont be too long
