My two Ludwig Black Beauty Snare. Pure love every time I play on them ❤️ Man , I've always wanted a Black Beauty , just never had the extra $450 for one ! Right now I have a Rodgers Dynasonic , but its missing the special snare strainer . Its just got a standard snare wire setup . The snare sounds good . But no Black Beauty .

$450? Damn...drummers get off easy... For top notch shit, $450(cheap) for a snare, $1,500 for a bass drum, $900 for a floor tom, $700 for a second floor tom, $500 for a rack tom, $700 for a ride cymbal, $500 for a set of hi hats, average of $300 per crash(i have 4), my bass drum pedals are $1,200, hardwares in the $5-1000 range.... yeah...we get off easy... here's my bass drum pedals btw, they are ridiculously full of awesomeness!!! and you can set them up for any feel you want, i do NOT use the titanium beaters though, not enough BEEF for me 8)

I actually meant it as recording gear...but no big whoop... Sorry, my mistake! But it's something that I think has made a big difference in rec gear and that I have much use for it is my old pair Neve 33115 pre / eq with Coles 4038 mics. Always happy what that chain delivers. scumbum Have a Rogers Dynasonic snare and it's an absolutely gorgeous snare. Think it's a bit like Ludwig Supraphonic. I have the old snare strainer left and it's a little tricky to find good new snare wire. So it may be an advantage to you replaced the usual snare strainer /H

Fender Tele-Fender deluxe reissue-AEAR84-CAPI VP28-Burl B2 makes me smile
The DIY APEX 460 mods (C12 style and 47) are fabulous and very glad I did this (well, a friend did the work I just came out of pocket for it)
Seventh Circle N72 is just beautiful on vocals
Warm Audio WA76. This wasn't immediate but I kept messing with it and Im finding how to hit the elusive G-spot...cough cough...I mean sweet spot!
Native Instruments Maschine Now before anyone gives me a hard time out this midi piece, i want you to know this is a killer piece of gear. Mocking up drumbeats and sampling things and flying them into sessions is how I use it.

Boring, but nothing compares to the room treatment I did 5 yrs ago. 2nd place is my Harrison console, both for the sound, and perhaps even more: Workflow - to be able to treat sound in a direct and intuitive way, I guess like painting.

It's a long list of things for me too. I feel more like I've been watching a gradual sunrise of gear and experience to get where I am now, it all adds up. I would agree that the listening end of things makes the hugest difference.
