Early in my career, I did a show with my band at Lake Spivey GA that featured Charlie Daniels and his band, right about the time "Devil Went Down To Georgia" became a hit. He played a great set and lit up the crowd. Met him a couple times over the years, he was always gracious. A good friend of mine was a good friend of his and continually spoke of what a great man he'd been in his life. I'm not sure they're making men like Charlie these days. Maybe they are.
