There's got to be an octo Apollo on the way! John, I know you can't use the twin with Apollo but can you use the twin for extra processing??

Looks real to me, but the UA site has not been updated yet (as of 6:43 AM MST). Slackers.

I wonder if there is a grace period, for us unfortunates who just splashed out on an octo the other day.

I'd check with ua if you just bought an octo but you would have haf a custom upgrade offer anyway and plugs for $133 is $1,000 of value for $399 so you saved $600, the new deal is a coupon of $750 so the net difference isn't that great. If you save the $600 and by plugs on sale you will do better than the $750 coupon cus now the store is back up to full list excrpt for mkii's unless the custom upgrade is also offered plus the $750 coupon ?

Yeah - that was a lot of math and I kind of went cross eyed...but I think what you're saying is now that the store is at full price, the $750 coupon won't go very far at all...I posted it somewhere, but I spent $840 on the Twin, and paid $799 for the 6 plugs. Since the Pultec, LA2A and 1176 collections were on sale for $99, I picked out 5 expensive plugs I wanted, one of the $99 ones and paid another $198 for two more plugs. Then they gave me a free Helios plug...have no idea why!? So, I basically got 9 plugs for $997.
I sold the Twin used for $700 and bought a Quad Satellite for $700...The Quad was brand new (a guy bought it and didn't register it), so I have the option to do the $399 for 3 or $799 for 7 for the next 40 or so days. Don't really know if I'll do that, though. Oh - and I've got $100 worth of coupons in my account too! I was gonna wait until mid April to see if they brought anything new out.

Those custom deals basically equal $133 per plug for the must expensive but if the current octo deal iss custom upgrade offer plus $750 coupon: thats a nice sweetener a year ago it was 1046, if you purchased any of the plugs previously that were in that deal which i had
People complain about ua's pricing but it rewards loyalty !
Ps if you are not joking eric at jrr takes satellites on trades and was talking about that today on ua forum .

I just don't think I need an octo...I've still got room left on my Quad in the mixes I've done.

you need it, and you also need the chassis to connect it to your computer via thunderbolt :-{

I just got ANOTHER $50 coupon for some reason...I now have $150 in coupons. Funny thing is, with no discounts, even the $150 in coupons isn't that great a deal...
Can I trade my coupons in for money to buy Phoenix Verb?

no: use ua coupons or lose them
the owc heliso chassis is about 350 so an octo card is abut 2,000 all in but you get the 750 of coupons and you could sell your quad so you would have lots of uad-2 dsp and another prime group of plugs and you would be out of pocket 6-700
the octo plug deal goes to the end of june so you could wait if other new plugs are released.
pretty certain eric at jrr would take you quad in trade

I bought a single space OWC Helios Thunderbolt chassis for my UAD-2 Quad so I could use it with my MacPro or my laptop when I'm away. It works fine, but the fan is noisy. Get a long T-bolt cable, especially if you use it with a laptop or iMac.
Think I'm going to pop for the Octo deal, whether I sell/trade the Quad or not. Bruce Dickenson sez, you're gonna want those UAD plugs.

I disconnected the fan in my Echo Express II chassis. the octo card doesn't run hot, unlike video cards for gaming machines. that's really what these chassis are built for, and why they have fans in them.

Ya disconnect fan i have owc helios rebranded sonnet open the front about 1/2 inch for convection current: works fine silent
Sweetwater has 36 month no interest octo deal so whats that: $50 a month ?
The owc helios is $3-350 and the cable is about $30-50

Ok i saw somewhere else said 36 no big deal that is still about $75. Just meaning to encourage people its nice to have the dsp in reserve and the coupon sweetens the pot. I con 't regret buying my octo at all !
