I love my pair of Lulu fets and have owned a couple other beesneez mics. The build quality has always been very impressive so I have high hopes for this one. With the current exchange rate, you can grab one for around $590 USD! beesneezproaudio.com/product/clone-u87i/*Update: I picked up a pair. Here is my review of the BU87.

That's an interesting price.
Anyone know what the difference between the regular and the "producer" versions are?

Who's doing the capsules?

Who's doing the capsules? Well Ben obviously is doing the capsules ( It says so if you read their blurb) It's cardioid only so that helps account for the low price. I'm sure it sounds great.

Well hell, I just ordered one. I don't particularly need it, but I've been interested in a u87 for some time and the price is crazy even compared to a decent DIY and I don't want someone to come to their senses and raise price..
BTW, shipping to USA is ~35$ so the total is about 629$.

Oddly enough, My U87s are mics I use in all 3 patterns all the time. U67 spends most of its time in cardioid, same for 414s . . . but U87 has 3 VERY usable patterns.

FWIW I had the BeesNeez C12 clone (the BC12) for a while, it was a really nice mic.

I saw no indication of when it might ship on the website, and none in the email confirmation. I assume that since they're a long time business they have some stock already built up and aren't doing it on a per-unit basis like others that take years to deliver..

Hi guys.
Sorry to jump on so late!
these are shipping everyday. Wait time is not generally a problem and you should receive your mic in a timely manner.
We are really looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts once you try it out.
cheers.

I just picked up a pair. I used one briefly on male vocals and was impressed. I hope to get a chance later in the week to use them on acoustic, an amp and drum overheads so will report back asap!

Based on the clips I've heard, and positive comments from those who have them already... Congrats Ben. Chris

One of these days I'll finish up my video review of these mics but in the meantime I wanted to share these clips. Here are the BU87 mics on acoustic and electric guitar as I'm fumbling my way through a couple of Jeff Buckley tunes 😁 No eq on either track other than a little high pass filter. Reverb on the electric is me doing my best Andy Wallace impression with the PCM 70 😂. Anyway, more to come but I hope this gives you guys a little idea of they sound!
