Did PA just try to justify an “all lives matter” thing in an email to sell more subscriptions?!
Anyone else get that email?

I get what they're saying, but they could have worded it way better given the context. Also not sure what the point of adding that blurb to their marketing email is, exactly.

I’ve seen some people say that Dirk probably didn’t understand the context due to not being from America, but I also read about a guy trying to bring it up on the PA forum, getting his post removed, and then getting banned from the forum, so I’m struggling to understand Dirk’s side of it.

He's awkward. Oh well. Not a big deal really. Just awkward. Yes, it's a very sensitive issue, I get that too. I try not to read too much into what he said, just poorly worded, poorly placed.

Plugin Alliance. A very popular plugin manufacturer. There is this whole soap opera about their prices, deals, sales, weird shit Dirk says or decides to do, or decides to go back on. Once you get past all that, though, the plugins are top notch!

Cities are burning and this guy uses "all lives matter" politics as some sort of marketing ploy? Geesh. I really like Plugin Alliance, but for an audio company that's ironically tone deaf.

I have always said buisness should be beige, personally you can show your opinions but as a business no matter how you approach it, you are going to piss somebody off or it will bite you in the ass. I sold to everybody, no matter the politics ( some might have gotten better prices than others) 90% didn’t know my politics. Now in private, if you buy me a couple of beers I might have a story or 2 about my actions towards a couple of clients who’s views and actions the vast majority would call pond scum😎.

I think racism is not hard to understand - no matter where you live.
If you've ever been on the victim's side, I am since the 80s, it becomes easy to understand what it is about.
They don't want me to exist, they would love to see me dead.
Easy to understand... nothing hard about it.

People shouldn’t kill each other for no reason and theft won’t bring back anyone’s life. Arson can only take life.

I always thought this won't be a discussion since the Nazis killed 6 million yews -systematically- here in Germany.
A killing machine based on hate.
But we still discuss it in 2020 - 75 years after WW2. CRAZY!!
I don't see any problem mailing me "HEY WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY LIVE MATTERS!"
BTW - ME TO - I AM VEGETARIAN....
Nothing wrong with showing solidarity in my book. Loosing someone is hard, special under those circumstances.
Steven Slate is doing the same on Instagram and I do believe every word he is saying.
He is not speaking for Slate Digital, he speaks as a human being, a world citizen.
I respect him for this.
BTW when the COVID-19 thing is over I travel to the US - please I don't want to be killed by anyone.
LOVE WINS ----

Well, some of us do have a problem with it, but as we all agree this is not the forum to dig deeply into these issues. Just understand that in the US the "All Lives Matter/Blues Lives Matter" rhetoric was a push back against the Black Lives Matter movement, not an effort to find unity in equality. I can only hope that Plugin Alliance was ignorant of the deeper meaning of their sales slogan. By the way, my great-grandfather was from Hamburg!

Dirk sent a new email correcting himself, basically, it reads well enough.
I was so pissed off about the murder of Floyd George, I wrote a protest song today. I think it's my first "protest song."

I thought they died with Lennon. Want to hear it ... Come on give Dirk a break. He lives in your country and the US is based on immigration. The thing to say all lives matters would be OK here in the EU. We can now go down into culture semantics, or we can agree that we all understand Dirk's idea/mindset. And yes, he wrote a second mail to correct his mistake.

I this case Dirk's idea was not well thought out ... Hamburg is nice, but in 2020 Berlin is the place to be...😍👻👍🎸🕦🎼

I got the first email and cringed - given the context he clearly did not intend to say all lives matter but unwittingly came close to the same choice of words with the every life matters phrase - he just was not familiar with the current definition and cultural context of that exact phrase
the fact that when he was informed of his verbal gaffe he went and researched it and immediately issued a clear apology pretty much says it all, obviously he wrote the first email because he is unbelievably upset like all of us
