Bit of a nutty question but I've been looking at the price of the Oktava capsule and I have a few cheap SDC's banging around and am just wondering is the threading on the Oktava capsule standard in any way or could it be adapted to that of another mic's?
I'm just currently looking at the idea out of curiosity, seems like it could be a decent solution to upgrading my low end SDC's!

As far as I know they are not universal. The cost to machine the adapters would make it cost prohibitive. IMHO.

It doesn't look like they can fit anything else. The threads are probably just metric, but the diameter is a lot different than any of my other SDCs.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. Guess I'll just have to count my shekels till upgrade time comes!

What about hot gluing the caps to the saddles instead of screwing them?
