This picture shows that only the top of the mic is playing the part of "Lady In Red". The base of the mic looks to be turned steel like a Beyerdynamic of sorts. Perhaps the red plastic jacket broke from live handling a d they continued to use the perfectly good mic as is bunched up with that Unidyne (?) that was probably used to send to an effect like a voice box.

Perhaps the red plastic jacket broke Isn't that just more tape wrapped around the base?

The metal is quite visible on the MC5 clip, particularly when Tyner takes the mic out of the clip. Appears to be a slim black ring just below the red bit. Which undoubtedly has the mics make and model. Not sure that helps?

Can anybody ID the mics in the Fanny clip that’s in the Beat Club compilation I linked a few posts back? They look to me like they might be the same mic without the red bling.
Cheers, Geoff

I've been curious about those forever, but never bothered to ask. Here's another.

I've been thinking about this and the red part might be a sleeve slipped over a mic to alter the polar pattern.

Mystery solved
I can’t believe I remembered posting about these given how long ago it was. Cheers, Geoff

I've been thinking about this and the red part might be a sleeve slipped over a mic to alter the polar pattern. 4 years later or someone painted the windscreen to easily ID it, seen some very bad attempts over the years.
