Used it last month in a tracking session. Acoustic guitar with one my schoeps. I'm very familiar with how the mics sound and it sounded great. Big, detailed and a little sheen on top.

Man u tried almost all the gear. BTW I have a dynamax too. I had bought one I'd the spl aes gear, which raises the voltage and you can optionally install lundahl in/out, it it may sound awesome with the upgrade

In the case of the Red, I only used it for one day session, the house engineer said he liked it on acoustic so I plugged it in, it sounded good so I moved on!

My go to is the Tree Audio Branch. I also have capi VP28s and Don Audio Neve and a Phadrus Phab redd preamp. If I had the budget I would add an AMS 1081 pre/eq and Chandler redd47. I tried the AML 1081 as I mentioned in another thread, and though I do like their 1073, I didn't bond with the 1081, at all...

Redd 47 is nice but expensive

Why u don't like their 1081? Isn't it close to the vintage? I’ve never used vintage 1081, but I’ve used the Ams reiusse a lot and it’s one of my all time favorites. And the Aml sounded nothing like it. And if the Aml sounds like the vintage one, I guess I wouldn’t like the vintage much. I had the aml 1081 with about ten other 500 preamps for testing and it’s probably the one I liked the least. I like their 1073 a lot though.
