The eqp5 gets amazing reviews and it seems like its exactly what I need for my 2 buss. It's easier/cheaper for me to get the KTs though. Has anyone modded them and if so does it bring them up to the level of the eqp5.

They are different. Apples and Oranges. I don't tend to get into a "which to use" mentality when I need an EQP. I instinctively go to one or the other depending on the source, but rarely try one, and then switch to the other. Lately though, I've really been digging the Ruletec plug in on individual sources. (I rarely use an EQP on the mix buss.)

Thanks for the response. Funny enough I'm trying to get something along the lines of the ruletec to track with. That's what led me to the DIYRE. I haven't done/looked into any KT mods but I did try both on mixbus. Not at the same time though so grain of salt. I like the DIYREs better. They do a really cool thing to the image and the solidity of the low end, even with no cuts or boosts. They just live on my mixbus in front of the AS SSL comp and I really like it. Fun build too.

Can't speak for the KTs but I love the diyre EQP5s. I own 4. Very nice EQs. Super easy build and lots of easy ways to customize them.

But I have a pile of DOAs to build when I get time (thanks matt@IAA!). Really looking forward to swapping some of those in. |

I have the classic output. One with the stock transformer and one set with L2503s.
I've tried a ton of op amps. The rogue5s are a great place to start.
Currently have the rogue2s in there.
The M2 is great from Matt as well.
Didn't actually like the 990s in them..
