re: Jeremy's post. That wouldn't work for me for several reasons, the main one being that I don't want to spend several days on an idea. I like to be able to work as fast as is possible. I also like to print the idea right to "tape" instead of having a demo version. Things that end up on the phone/whatever don't ever seem to get developed. For some reason, it just doesn't work for me. But it's a big wide world and everyone has their own methods and their own reasons. Fair enough! I’ve often wanted to develop a digital recorder for the shower. Just hit a button to record. I come up with some great ideas in the shower and they are pretty much gone into the ether by the time I can get to something to record it.

I’ve often wanted to develop a digital recorder for the shower. Just hit a button to record. I come up with some great ideas in the shower and they are pretty much gone into the ether by the time I can get to something to record it. I wrote a really good song in the shower once called "Robot Dreams." People seem to like it when I play it. I remembered it long enough to go over to the mics and guitar and get it recorded. One of my favorite memories is a song I wrote called "I'll Be Just Fine." It hasn't really been recorded in high fidelity or anything, but the way I wrote it was interesting. I had the melody in my head, but then it was time to go register to vote with my family. So I was sitting there in the back of a truck playing this melody over and over inside my head for a couple of hours. Also during the forms and stuff. Finally I got home to record the idea. Sometimes those ideas get stronger if you can hold them in the mind for an extra few minutes. The mind tends to flesh out the idea a little more when put on hold/repeat like that. The worst ones for me are the ones that I think of while I'm sleeping. Sometimes I'm too tired to get up and record something. And when I do, sometimes they "aren't as good as I thought." But interrupting sleep is a tough one in terms of getting an idea captured. The phone memo really comes in handy for that kind of thing.
