I've only just started using it but really impressed with the "Studios" on drum bus, and the spring reverb on guitar. Haven't tried the plate yet, or any other sources. So I've only used it on one track but I was really pleased with it. Here's the demo track, just some noodling around to hear the gear: https%3A//soundcloud.com/user-707541281/waiting-for-the-word-first-bla-revolution-mix2-with-bass-mint-lurssen-ik-space-delay-sunset-soundHow much did you get it for?

It was on sale and I had some jam points, so it was a good bit under $50 when I bought it. I got Space Delay at the same time which I'm very happy with. And in this track I figured out Lurssen is good for me too, when set properly. IK is on a roll with these newer ones. I think they just gave everyone 30 jam points today, so look out for those.

I did the same - I think it was $35 on their site using the free JamPoints they gave - great deal. Here's another mini IK Rant . They let you use JamPoints up to a 30% discount which is absolutely fine, the thing is, they don't tell you what that is so there is a box that says "How Many JamPoints do you want to use?" and you have to type in a number and it says "Nah, too many" so then you type in less and it's like "nope" rinse and repeat until you get it right. Obviously I could do 30% of $50 but I could see how if you were spending $114.93 it could require you to break out the old abacus. LOL

Here's the ISO booth. Great idea. This really helps my smallish room for this type of acoustic guitar material, so much better than what I'm used to dealing with. Microphone is a single Aurycle DIY mic that I'm repairing for a friend. I believe (?) that I successfully cleaned the dirty diaphragm with distilled water and a delicate paintbrush. Got a little tonebooster EQ, Sunset Sound ISO booth, and a limiter on the end, that's it. Probably could have moved a little closer to the microphone, oh well, just a test. www.dropbox.com/s/gde2n8ejgsdj947/126%20comes%20a%20time%20AURYCLE%202.flac?dl=0

It's on sale again! Just used the Sunset Chamber on my most recent vocal, very lush.
Lurssen Mastering Console is also on sale, love that one too for a quick final polish, the only "all in one" mastering plug I've got results from.
MixBox is on sale too, I have no opinion on that one yet. It's a Slate style, PSP InfiniStrip style lunchbox/modular plugin.

Man, I just went to demo this and their site and installation manager are both so, so clunky and obtuse. I have no idea how to demo it. But above and beyond that, I don't really want to deal with this type of cluttered company. I had a memory of trying a couple of their plugs like 10 years ago and coming away with a similar impression. Figured they must have made it better by now. The upcoming UAD release reminded me that I wanted to try this out, but I think I'll wait for the UAD rather than spend time trying to figure out how to Engage the Jam Points in my Self Service Jam Portal to Unlock TRack5 Promo Bucks etc.

I use their B4 Hammond Organ (which is really fantastic) and their Sunset Reverb. The download manager is truly dreadful - it needs to be tamed. Don't allow it to install the "shop" Don't allow it to install any "free" sample tank stuff Ride it like a wild horse - it can be tamed. If I can do it, anyone can

Yeah the bucks stuff is confusing. But all I did was download the plugin manager thing and pressed install and it was there.

I downloaded the install manager and all it will show me is what I already have (like 6 random free things). I don’t see any way to browse for new things to download/try.

Yeah, I particularly have a problem with Synthtronik, my install is currently broken.
I think to demo Sunset you have to do something silly, like go to Custom Shop and follow the demo prompt to get it to show up in the helper app.
I think I blocked all of this out.
Edit: I found this which seems to supports my recollection:
“To install the individual plugins as VST, RTAS, and AU, you must launch the Custom Shop from within T-Racks CS or from your Programs (Win) or Applications (Mac) folder and click on GEAR > Restore My Gear. Select the location of the VST path, which will install the plugins to the chosen folder.”
The fact that this reverb is seen as a component of T Racks is just terrible Product Management. But that tracks with my experience of IK. The upside is that I do really like a few of their plugins and instruments.

I kind of gave up on Acustica for similar reasons. Too much of a pain in the ass to deal with. I've been kind of on a mission to make workflows as easy as possible and, to a point, I will even accept a slight decrease in sonics to have stuff that works versus stuff that may be sounds slightly better, but is always a complete nightmare to deal with. It's just not worth it to me anymore. And I used to be the guy who would give hard stares when somebody else would say something like that. . Part of the difference these days, I suppose, is that, to a certain extent, you don't have to make such hard compromises between sonics and workflow anymore, in ways that one might have had to do back in the day. I've kind of settled on UAD as my primary source of plugins, with a few others from other companies (Tokyo Dawn, Soundtoys, etc.) sprinkled in, and that's it. And even then, I probably only use about half of those UAD plugins, and I have those that I do use set up on individual buttons on my Stream Deck so I can insert them on a channel in one push of a button, just like they were in a physical rack. The constant search for the next new plugin thing has gotten old too. Not that I'll completely give up on checking out new plugins, this new Sound City plugin being a prime example, but, these days, give me shit that just works and is quick and easy to set up and adjust. It's not worth the creative drain to go down technical rabbit holes trying to find something or get something to work.

You also gotta watch out for the storage bloat of the download files (in some path I can never remember but always shows up containing like 10 gigs when using Whatsize to clean up my HD). I also have an issue with their shady upgrade offers, very much the same as Izotope in that you're offered things you already have and figuring out exactly what you have vs you're getting is purposely shrouded and confusing. Last 'upgrade' I ended up in a back and forth when I realized it didn't add anything new but then if I were to be refunded I'd lose things I already was using in sessions before the 'upgrade'?! In the end I just decided they can keep the money as it wasn't worth it to continue dealing with their customer disservice agent.

IK is a strange, frustrating company. A while back I had one of their monitors die on me a little while after the warranty had expired. I contacted them to see if I could pay to send it back for repair. No repairs. I then asked if they recommended anyone that could service the unit. No they couldn't. I then asked if they could send me a schematic so I could troubleshoot the issue myself. No. The monitor ended up in the dumpster. That was the last product, hardware or software, I've bought from IK Multimedia.
