I’ll probably give this a shot. I’m missing a good chamber emulation.

It's been out for a few months now...anyone here given this one a serious spin or actively using it and have any strong opinions?
I just realized I have a bunch of IK Jam Points built up and figured this might be a good way to burn them.

I dig it. Been using studio 2 room on a recent mix as well as experimenting with the chambers and iso booths. The chambers and plates sound really good with the decay time set shorter which I like as I usually don't want long decay times. Try the demo if you haven't before buying, but I think was well worth the the price I paid using IK points. And yes, studio 1 chamber sounds like the gtr verb on VH1.

I think it sounds nice. The rooms are lovely.....the plates Id call “fine”....and thats not a slam....they're just not Abbey Road, which honestly that-thing’s CPU use is the only reason i even demod this. Room IRs do hat Ive always said they need to with a dual mono input matrix-they have a switch to change it to mono if youd rather.

I have it and love it. It adds a vintage room sound effortlessly. I am using it on nearly everything. It is easy on the CPU too, unlike IK’s killer tape machines which also kill the cpu and must be rendered immediately for me..,but I digress. Sunset is a game changer for me. Especially on vocals and guitar.

I'm actually wondering about the spring reverb in this thing for using on clean guitars or drums.

interested in this one. it seems to offer a lot, to cover all your reverb needs. I know there's a demo but I'd like to ask for first-ear-expierence first. are all the reverbs (chambers, rooms, booths, plates) good? I have logic's space designer and Valhalla room and softube tsar: so do I have all I need?

I've only just started using it but really impressed with the "Studios" on drum bus, and the spring reverb on guitar. Haven't tried the plate yet, or any other sources. So I've only used it on one track but I was really pleased with it.
Here's the demo track, just some noodling around to hear the gear:

Lots of people might say the IK install procedure is legendary, but not in a good way. I think it's worth it, though, lots of gems in there.

It’s really annoying because IK downloads all their plugins and puts them in your plugins folders. I feel that’s a major negative, I don’t like it. That’s the downside. The upside, the plugins are already in demo mode, so if you are ever curious it’s easy to try them. They offered their 76 compressor for free a while back, so that was a nice bonus for putting up with their process.
I had to buy Sunset, a rare time I put money toward software. It is the best plugin I’ve ever used, but sonically I don’t think it’s really much different than any reverb. It’s the best interface I’ve used- gives me control over everything, they truly cared to get it right. They modeled different decay times on the plates exactly like they should, or can adjust decay using the global knob. The visuals of the rooms and chambers matches the controls perfectly. They give 3 full studios worth of ambience: booths, chambers, live rooms, analog verbs. So the amount of options are off the charts. The little stories about what albums used which rooms, super cool

I’d say it’s an incredibly special plugin. The magic is the visual, I use it like all verbs but seeing the dimensions of the space, recognizing and reading the notes that confirm the sounds heard from albums, they really did as good as you could. Makes me feel like I’m in a control room and have the patch to all the spaces in front of me. It’s still a digital verb in the end though.

I think it’s a great plugin - it also models the Sunset Sound chains so it’s actually the Demedio Console feeding the Plate (or whatever gear feeds whichever particular reverb/room)
The installer and rack ARE lame and not only install all of their plugins, they also install copies of each installer on your HD. while you can remove the plugins you don’t own their “helper” application has no idea you’ve done that so, let’s say you owned 2 plugs and trashed everything else but then decided to buy Sunset, the product manager will think it’s already installed so you have to dig for the installer on your drive (assuming you didn’t trash it) then unpack it and run the Uninstaller to remove everything then RE-install the full package then (if you so choose) go back through and manually re-delete the plugins you don’t own or not interested in. They know people hate it and yet chose to design their new app to still do this. Good news though, as they did take the time to have product advertisements in their customer portal so that’s a delight 🤨
(I do love the reverb though)

monkeyxx, I thought that room sound was really good. I have so many other options though, I hesitate to get yet another one. Ocean Way has been working well for me, as well as the 7th Heaven studio verbs. I might by UAD's Capitol Chambers next time it's on sale.

I'm waiting for the right time to buy Ocean Way also. Sunset Reverb is right up there with it, just "different studios" I like both, but only own one currently. They both stood out in my demo period testing. Just used the Sunset plate on my most recent vocal, it worked out fine, it's a little more laid back than the UAD plate I usually use, not as bombasic. Kind of cool.

I too find the UAD Plate to be a little heavy. It works beautifully on solo guitar and vocal, but gets a bit crowded in a multi-track situation.
