I know the EV 737a is a generally well regarded live vocal mic.
Does it sound pretty good for me, on this brief acapella clip? Partly I'm trying to improve my "ear" judgment, and also want the option of using a dynamic at home to record vocals.
Thanks for listening and giving me your thoughts... Chris

I was never a fan of the N/D vocal mics, always felt they lacked excitement. For what you want I might give the Shure dual diaphragm or a Heil a try.

Thanks Eric for listening, and I appreciate your feedback. After I go through my dynamics (again) for a revaluation...
Most likely the first dynamic I'll add-if need be, will be the Beyer M88TG. We'll see/hear how well my original "replacement" mic (AKG D790) holds up. For the short run, I'm glad I didn't pony up, for the Soyuz Launcher-although IMHO that's a super cool product. If my EV 635a and SM58 had sounded better (on me), with my Prosumer pre's, I probably would have snagged the Launcher now. Chris

Just improved the same vocal clip. With more aggressive de-essing and a narrow 8Khz cut... To reduce breathiness. Pretty certain I'll pick up the Beyer M 201TG eventually though. Chris
