quick heads up for the mods/admin,
I received a pm from winetree via the groupdiy site saying he is unable to visit RGO.
this is his pm. hoping someone at admin etc can help.
I know you're on The RGO site. Starting 2 days ago, I'm having trouble with the RGO site. It keeps locking up, I close it and get " end program, also "the site is not responding" I've haven't had any problems before and this doesn't happen anywhere else. I can't surf or post anything. Anybody else with this problem couldn't let anybody know they are having a problem also. Could you post something on RGO, asking if anything has changed with the site within the last 2 days to cause this. Let me know here at GDIY. Thanks.
Winetree

I don't have any issues either. I'm on Iron/Chrome browser at work and just use the standard android browser on the phone. I don't use the android app though.

Using Firefox here, at home and at work. Freeforums makes me log in every so often, but it's no big deal. No other problems for me.

Weird - I'll post on the support board. Tell him I'm sorry for the issues.
The fact that it's just one guy makes me think it's not a Proboards problem though...Makes me wonder if it's his network that has somehow blocked something...

Well, something did change on the server end...because I now get notices there's an App available when I hit on the iPad. I have intentional not updated the iPad in years...so, it's the server telling iOS there an app for its database engine.
Haven't had a problem, per se...just wanted to throw that in. At the end of the day, I can't imagine JK wants to do website support...but, have DIY guy try a different machine/browser. Disable security stuff--the site obviously (on my end) uses some kind of cookie/history to generate banner content...there are paranoid browser setting that might shut that down.
Man, I don't miss IT...I'm going to play guitar real Fn loud now...is it wrong to drink bourbon through a straw before noon? Wash this left brained shit from my head...

Hey Winetree - i'm more than happy to try and help. But it doesn't look like anyone else is having problems. Could it be on your end?

thanks john,
I spoke with winetree,
he is using an older IE version and believes that is probably part of the issue so he is going to upgrade.

I'm now on my friend's computer running XP and explorer 8 and I don't have any problems surfing or posting to the site. (The same configuration as my computer, that I thought was the the problem and needed to be upgraded) So now I'm confused as to what the problem is with my computer. I hadn't changed anything, and the only difference with this computer and mine, is the server. I'll have to figure out something as I only have access to this computer on the weekends. Thanks for the posts and concern. See ya soon.

Think it's a security thing? Like it's an exception or something?

The fact that it's just one guy makes me think it's not a Proboards problem though...Makes me wonder if it's his network that has somehow blocked something... I've had weird stuff the last week or so. Browser (Safari, but I think I tried Firefox with similar issues) telling me something to the effect that there was no www.realgear.freeforums.net. It's random, so not really able to track down the issue. It's happened a half dozen or more times in the last week. No changes on my computer. If it makes you feel any better, it's happened to Gearslutz as well. Not sure what the issue is, but I haven't changed anything on my end. It just started happening.

It's more than likely your provider...
