I’m thinking of simplifying my workflow to many choice can be a bad thing (sometimes) So first I don’t need a console but this isn’t much money and might satisfy my Jones for faders it’s just the way I like to work . I’ve found a Soundtracs topaz project 24/8 in great condition with meter bridge there asking 500 $ obo From what I googled the eq’s are decent pre’s have a little pleasant color and phase reverse on every channel. I don’t know if the +4 mod has been done yet , but it’s supposed a simple easy mod if not . I’m looking for opinion from anyone who used one or have worked on one Also if you have a better choice for this kind of money to look for .[ br]edit: hell if nothing else 24 pre’s and eq’s for 500$ or less why not?

Well you really not have to spend more on it, modding etc.? If your talking the + 4 mod then no it’s just some light soldering. If your talking modding the pre’s and master then that’s why I’m asking if there decent enough stock.

It's a pro-sumer mixer. Not much in the way of headroom or definitive "desired" color. I wouldn't change my workflow for one.... But if you need something to monitor live before hitting the DAW for zero latency, it will certainly accommodate that.

Thanks Dr bill that’s the kind of opinions I’m looking for [ Ping or PM ericn He'll have an opinion. PS - don't forget wiring, patch bays and connectors, etc. costs. It can really add up. Depending on the length of your runs, and the type of wiring used, it can easily run 5-10k (or even more) for fully hooking up a 24 channel console.

It has more headroom than Bill say’s but to get there you need to know how to drive it and god if I remember! It’s not really colored, they are built like crap, BUT they are really fun if they have been taken care of and JW could make it addictive as crack!
