Echorec was an oil drum echo, not a tape echo.
But still, I am enchanted by these things because of Syd Barrett. I guess I ought to demo.

Not in the gui: check out the demo or just buy it: I know where this is going ! I don't understand. I'm not trying to be pedantic, but it is simply NOT a tape echo. It uses a different analog technology, a spinning drum with multiple heads.

Oh sorry, my bad, you are probably right and I just misunderstood it: thought it was tape based!
Anyway, try the demo, it’s pretty sweet !

Thanks for the heads up kcatthedog!! This was an instant buy for me after hearing the demos. Already purchased, download, iLok (!!!!!!!!!!) activated and used on a track. Very vibey. Very ambient. Very cool and the GUI is really sweet. This is the kind of plug and company I can get behind. Thanks again!!

Much more similar to tape. The Tel-ray/Morley Echo-ver-brato was using a oil can that stores signals electrostatically. Interesting effect, but not even close to the same sound.

I've seen it described as a "disc or a drum." I am also not an expert.

If you go to JRR shop this is even a little bit cheaper! I'm thinking on it.

These two plugs, liquid sonics plates and repeater are the only plugs really calling my name.

This is great. Thanks for sharing. The ONE thing I like from waves is H-Delay. I think this can severe the WUP cord for me.

Actually, just heard. demo between this and repeater. Although I had a slate sub, I need used it as I had my waves preset. I have to admit I liked the D16 demo better and found it can be purchased without giving slate anymore money.

I demoed echorec when it was first released: loved the vibe and used it in a recording but forgot to buy it so have been waiting for a bf sale. I think it’s one of those special plugs!

Anyone compare this to the Overloud Echoson, which I already have? Thanks

Ugh! These Black Friday sales are killing my bank account. I downloaded the demos of both Echorec and Mu last night and spent some time with them. Mu was a lot more transparent than I thought it would be. It's a little like MJUC at low compression (2-3dB) but it is much cleaner and more transparent at higher gain reductions. I want to resist, but it seems futile. I have to have 50 compressor plugins. I play with them for a while and see what they can do and then most never get used again. This one seems like it might get used more.
The Echorec has a very nice sound, easy to dial in a cool setting and is pleasing to look at. I won't have a choice. The JRR deal is too good to pass up.
.... I caved.... Bought both.
