Like another member, I am tired of using the slate bundle, refuse to WUP for waves, owna. few plugins otherwise and am on the hunt for something fun and useful to mix with. Right now, I am working on a series of live albums which is fun but I need to improve my speed and workflow. On this last one, I used Console one for most channel duties with the SSL emu. Having always been fun the box, the knobs weren't a breakthrough for me, though cool. What I love about it is the commitment to a set of plugins and eliminating plugin paralysis due to distractions.
I knew about the SSL bundle on Gobbler but tonight, dug into research, checked out the specs, watched videos, etc. I am impressed with all that is included and the apparent quality demonstrated by the interfaces. I think this could work for core duties and the buss comp on the 2-buss along with my Gyr X and Lange EQ which do great for size and top end. For specific additional flavors (kick most likely) I have Antelope emus and some softube plugs.
Anyone have experience with the bundle? How did it do for you?

I haven't used the SSL Native plugs but just a heads up (in case you haven't checked it out already) on the Brainworx SSL strips. They're my favorite ITB SSL channels and they go on sale regularly from Plugin Alliance.

Many companies do the SSL thing but to my knowledge only two follow the SSL Layout as close as possible. It's Waves and Brainworks.
The SSL 4k by Brainworks was on sale last year @26 bucks.
I still use Slate nothing lets me mix faster as having the whole chain in one window. Still hard to explain why Steven decided not to follow the SSL topology, or at least gives the user the freedom to decide between this and his layout.

My guess is he needs to keep things at least a little different to stay out of legal trouble. Waves and Brainworx pay for the use of the brand so they can copy it as exactly as they want. For whatever it's worth, I think the Brainworx mops the floor with the Waves (have both).

+1 on the Brainworx SSL channels. Got both, the E and G, in a sale and love them, although I lean more towards the E channel.

BTW he also could do things a little different and still following the idea to have the dynamic section and the EQ section in one plug in.
On the other hand pre and post ssl compression is easy as hell with VMR. But I still miss the input and output trims. I miss the LP and HP filters.
That's why I use the Brainworx and the Slate stuff together... I mix it up and it makes the mixes wide lush and open love it that way...

another +1 for Brainworx channel strips. SSL is really good, and I really like the Console N also (Neve type). You could do a whole lot with those two, or even just one of them.

I have the SSL Native Channel Strip and the Brainworx SSL strip, and I use the Brainworx way more. Don't know why, just gut feeling
Also, got the Brainworx on sale for like $24

I'm still leaning towards SSL as the bundle has quite a bit in it. Forgive the ignorance but can someone give a 2 sentence E vs G? I had an album mixed on a 4000 a while back but darned if I know which IT is and why to chose one over the other.

However I lack the knowledge to describe the difference. I believe the dynamics sections are slightly different also.
