Last night I was watching this: I started reading the comments and a few of the people went into hysteria about Paul dying in a car crash in 1966 and being replaced by a double. I was reading through it and thinking this was an episode of the twilight zone. Can anyone really believe this stuff? Imagine the odds of finding a look-alike for Paul that just happens to write even better songs than the original Paul. I was shocked that people could still be obsessed with this after 50+ years. Cool video, but some of the comments on there made me wonder about the posters. Did any of you join in this conspiracy theory back in the day? I'd love to understand how someone could hold that as truth. Snopes fact check

I remember this somewhat. I was way to stoned back then to remember the details but, it started with a reference in one of there songs lyrics that said Paul is dead also there was something people concocted about the Abby Road cover that was also presumed to be a reference to Paul being dead . Also the reference in the song A day in the life ( he blew his mind out in a car ,he didn’t notice that the light had changed ) turnmeondeadman.com/paul-is-dead-clues-in-i-am-the-walrus/ from there it went nuts people finding all kinds of obscure references. This was a pretty big deal for a couple weeks back then lol . Onward thru the fog lmao “Here’s another clue for you all the walrus was Paul”

I remember reading the storylines of researches on the subject laying out many more clues at the time all implying the same thing weaved in Beatles art/marketing and songs and assumed it was the Beatles way of having a laugh or bit of fun. Some said it was a prepared marketing scheme to use if needed to renew interest in the group if they ever faded from the public eye before their time, but of course they never did. I never met anyone who believed the theory though.
As for wondering about the comments of posters on the video amazed anyone could buy the Paul is dead theory as truth,.... remembering that less than 1% of people believe the moon landing was a hoax without evidence to support their view, I'm more amazed at the things a higher number of people believe today as truth with no interest in fact checking or holding their sources or the people they support accountable to it.
Great Video and really great song, Thanks for sharing!

I'd love to understand how someone could hold that as truth. Chemtrails? Area 51? Kennedy Assassination? And I won't even bring up recent politics. Some people are just wired to go off the rails with this stuff.

We live in an odd world. Many people just want to believe in conspiracy theories about everything. One of the posters went in to great detail that William is taller than Paul and has a different skull shape. Where do they get this stuff? No reference to how this was determined. But still, the biggest question to me is: How did they find a look-alike that sang, played and wrote songs at least as well as the original Paul? Seems highly unlikely. That kind of gift for songwriting is so uncommon. To find two people who look alike and sound the same, with that specific skill set seems to border the impossible.

But of course!
Now if "Bones" McCoy had said "He's Dead Jim" (if the recording was played backwards)... We'd all would have been a lot more concerned for Paul.

Last night I was watching this: I'm just surprised that the microphone John used looks EXACTLY like the MXL V87, I just gave away to a good friend. Could they have been "one and the same"? Chris
