I also prefer the Ironworks, both on guitars and vocals.

Hey so matt@IAA kindly sent me one of his QPP quad mic pres to check out. I've been so backed up with stuff this summer that I only just unboxed it and took it for a spin. It's too early for me to make any sweeping conclusions but I can say I'm impressed. It's built like a friggin' tank and I love the classic, simple aesthetic. Here's a clip of it on acoustic guitar and vocal. This is my MK67 through the QPP into Symphony MKII. The vocal is also being leveled a bit by the Stam ADG (Rev A). drive.google.com/file/d/1V5ccYdqK4dOeGSkkiRxBDd5IAQOS4B9U/view?usp=sharingDefinitely dig that utilitarian design.

Out of stock last I checked, but with verbiage indicating you can email them about getting one.
I too have been eyeballing the page...

IAA stuff is awesome, just buy it (TM).
enlav, just PM Matt@IAA (I think their name is dogears on this forum). Matt's super helpful, I thought I had an issue and Matt was the proactive one out of us two.. I mean, stellar support, great sounds, quick shipping.. Perfect.
The only issue I have with IAA is my studio isn't filled with it and I can't afford their console.

These pres both sound good. But most importantly, they don’t get in the way of Ragan, who sounds flipping great.

notneeson thank you sir! I had kind of forgotten about this comparison. This has the QPP back on my mind, especially since going back to doing live drums. I didn’t really have the need for more good pres before. I’ve got two channels of Great River and two channels of Stam 1073. The QPP would be a really nice alternate flavor. I did session guitar work on one record through a Quad Eight desk and I really loved that thing.

My main pres in my personal studio are actually AM10 based Quad Eights that I had racked up long ago. Love 'em. Funny enough I have been hankering for the 500 series Great River pre even though I don't really need it.

I think it was pretty early on in Matt’s development of it.
