Ugh. Old is not always good. I'm sure you can find something to do with it though......

yeah I have no idea what it will sound like. if all else fails i'll put it on the side chain of a compressor.

Mmmm, it has a back-lit vu, must be good. But then there's side-chain duty.

I used to have a Teac 5 console. It sucked hard. It sure looked COOL but it was the nastiest thing I've ever been near audio wise. When I hear people diss Mackie, Behringer, Presonus, Mboxes, 001s/2s/3s I always fantasize lugging that old piece of shit to their space and watching them try to make anything sound good on that. I don't think it can be done. If I still had it I would destroy it, hopefully no hipsters found it dumpster diving.

Sorry but this that picture just brings me back to that desk haha. Maybe the EQ isn't the worst thing in the world. Funk Logic stuff sounds better if you're just trying to fill rack space.

Hah!
Well, whatever, David Friedmann has a Graphic that he uses as a distortion device. If it works for him, roll with it.

ok Jordan I don't want to upset you but my week, and gear, just got a little better...... I wish I still had space to buy cheap, old, cool looking junk with vu's.

i'll probably track a punk band through it in a months time. fingers crossed.
I should probably hear it first hooked up to my $150 dollar reel to reel.
I might tinker with the insides just a little at some point as well.
I've got some awesome gear to play with. now I've got some other gear to play with.... hehe.

I use mine on parallel vocals. it's quite good for that but yeah, against everything else I have access to it makes stuff sound smaller and less real.

I felt that it sounded a bit cloudy... which is something that you can't really do in the box, but not something that I'm looking for often.

yeah it is for sure. I think it's a combination of the caps in the audio path and the low quality opto. I've got the gear to replace all of them but have not done it yet.
