Aside from Bandcamp, is there a place to download CD quality albums of major labels? I mean 16bit/44.1kHz or better? My current method: buy a CD I want, probably used on EBay for $0.99- $2.. find my old computer with a DVD drive, rip it, save it to hard drive= Sonic happiness through monitors. I’d rather “buy” the album “new” as a high res download. I’d be fine paying for quality up to $20 not an issue. And no.. I’m not paying $15-$20 for a compressed ‘lossless’ format, sorry :/

When available, I favor Bandcamp as, if I got it right, it is the service giving the higher rate to artists. If not, I buy files from Qobuz, a French company. They offer regular discounts plus HD files can be bought at a 30% discount rate with an annual subscription. No MP3s, only CD quality or higher files. www.qobuz.com/fr-fr/discoverListening to 24 bits files has changed my listening experience and it is difficult to go back to CDs! |

Acoustic Sounds was an easy to use site. Acoustic Sounds is so much more than its title implies. This site offers a bevvy of pop and rock selections from familiar artists that are sure to stop that all-too-common HD feeling that you’ve wandered into a soundtrack from a Sundance film.
