Aspen Pittman, founder of (the original) Groove Tubes, general audio resource, and all around life of the party has been killed in a car wreck a couple of days ago. I was fortunate to have encountered Aspen several times over the years and always enjoyed his ebullient personality, endless knowledge about audio and, of course, tubes, sense of humor, and willingness to share information.
Theree will never be another like him. He will be missed.
OTOH, I'm sure that the quality of company in "The Great Pub Upstairs" has been greatly enhanced.

I had a very pleasant email exchange with him about a replacement pot for a gt preamp and tube suggestions for the pre and he was one of the most helpful people Ive come across period especially considering the pre was long discontinued and he had no parts to sell me.Wish I had met him rip
