I said Pro - Sess the other day instead of "process" and my mother and my sister both reacted badly to it, I was a little surprised.
On the other hand I say reverb both ways just to confuse people.
Maybe I am a serial killer after all. On the fence, maybe.

The second way and anyone who pronounces it the first way is almost certainly a serial killer. And either a moron or a person whose first language is not English.

"Southwest" in this case meaning Texas and possibly Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri, all of which consider themselves to be Southern states.

I think you've got to be west and south of Denver, Albuquerque to be considered "southwest" in my book. Arkansas and Missouri certainly don't qualify, and neither does most of TX. That is good ol boy country.....

It's re-VERB of course. Short for re-VERB-erator or re-VERB-eration. REE-verb is a common mispronunciation, in the same way many people say VEE-hick-el or NUKE-you-ler.
And yes, I've slaughtered many a bowl of cereal in my day ;-)

Gay Rage is a good one. I like to say "GARE-idge" and pretend to be British my mom tries to say it too but she ends up sounding like some kind of drunk Frenchman, it's hilarious.

That is good ol boy country..... South = states that have a certain identification with The Confederacy, at least historically. Arkansas and Missouri certainly DO qualify and New Mexico and Colorado were not states and had no strong affiliations, they are "Old West" territories. Oklahoma is margainal, as it was not yet a state but at least the southern half of the territory (south of the North Canadian River) had strong southern ties.
South bt Southwest is held in TEXAS.

I've heard REE-verberator too.
